I sauntered around my home for the few weeks after we had travelled to Diagon Alley. So much fun in taunting Draco. He had started glaring at me every time that I had passed him or that we sat at the same table for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. All because of this thing that I got in the post, from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You see, I mentioned it before but because I like the attention, I’ll tell you again.

Me, Jasmine Malfoy, got something before my brother, Draco Malfoy. He’s slightly older than me, but I got it first. Sucks to be him right? And he can’t help but be jealous of this fact. I want to rub it in his face every time I see him. Just a bit of sibling rivalry won’t hurt will it? I chuckled to myself, before returning to what I was doing at hand; just a bit of causal tidying and packing for my trip to Hogwarts. My new home for the term (when it started of course) and I won’t regret going there. At Hogwarts, I will have my own group of followers. There, I can be queen of whatever house I get put in. No doubt my brother will try and out-do me.

“Jasmine! Come down here now! Aunty Bellatrix is here!” I heard someone call, from somewhere outside my room. I grumbled, I didn’t want to see Bellatrix or even talk to her. If only I could just travel to another place for whole time she is here. Brilliant! That’s what I will do. Travel to some place on a hill, which I use anyway and I travel via the floo network. Grabbing a one of my muggle books from the shelves, I peered out the window. Damnit! Rain coated the outside, leaving streaks behind, and runways for other raindrops. But that didn’t bother me.

I grabbed my coat and umbrella and a blanket/ thick duvet blanket just so I could sit on the floor without staining my lovely dress or just getting it wet in general. “Mother! Father! I’m going out. I don’t want to talk to her” I had opened my bedroom door, screamed as loud as I possibly could manage (we do live in a mansion you know) before slamming it back in place. Bellatrix was only here to see Draco and I’m sure darling Aunty wouldn’t mind her niece going walk-about without saying Hello.

Grabbing a handful of floo powder, I stepped into the fireplace, before throwing my handful down. I was shielding my eyes as it turned a vibrant green colour. This stuff could be so bright at times and I don’t use it often.  I used to have a fear that this stuff would burn. It only tickles really, though it makes an annoying mess of ash all over the floor. Dobby will have to clean that up or his hands will be shoved in the oven again. House Elves, huh? Can’t be trusted with anything.

“Hillside Cottage!” I stated clearly, shutting my mouth instantly afterwards. My room flew out of view, then a rushing of other networks passed by. I was soon sitting, having been thrown out of the receiving fireplace, and coughing like a madman.

“Jeez, Why?!” Complaining to no one in particular, I picked myself up and brushed down. Grabbing my trip equipment, I moved to the door and suddenly felt like an idiot. It wasn’t raining here. Stupid weather! Someone could have told me. But instead of leaving it behind, I moved outside, trying not to anticipate the looks she could possibly get.

Noticing no one about, I plopped down outside. Duvet down, umbrella up acting like a parasol and there she managed to feel like she was on holiday. By now, the family might have realised I wasn’t just outside the manor playing Quidditch or taunting Draco even further.

Pulling my book out “Marked” (From the House Of Night Series) and began reading. Every now and then, I peered over my book to see who was about and too make sure no one crept up on me. I mean, I wasn’t about to drop this book on the floor and ruin the pages. In other words, I’m saying I go majorly over the top if someone drops my book or if something ruins my books.

I was just getting to the good part, where Zoe was just jumping out of her window dramatically, when this boy just sat himself down next to me. Wait… What?!

“You do know it’s not raining?” He interjected, ruining my good mood and book reading. “It’s all good having an umbrella, but it’s just too hard not to notice from down there in the village”  I marked my place and turned my head to him and glared at him.

“Sorry, I didn’t know this space was open to mudbloods like yourself”, I shot back at him, narrowing my eyes. He raised an eyebrow at me and then I realized I just called him a mudblood and he doesn’t know the meaning of it. I just smirked.

“Mudblood! Really? Is that all you could come up with?!” He retorted, acting if I was an insolent child. Please! “I just came here to be nosy,” He tried to justify himself to me, but I just shrugged and showed him my book. He seemed rather interested.  But I wouldn’t let him hold it, or even touch it. “Come on!”

He was at it for another hour or so, trying to see what page I was on, but I held out and soon he gave up and left with a quick, “I’ll catch you one day unprepared and then I’ll take it from you!” That’s when I decided to leave too. It was getting quite late anyway and I decided rather than have my family track me down, I would go back. Bellatrix would have left by now.
