It's been a proper 3 days since the incident. The masses of Cover Corp had worked hard and quick in rebuilding what was destroyed and most of it's talents spread out to the city to erase the traces of the battle that had taken place.
And that all only took a single day, it's been quiet since. Very quiet.
This silence was quiet deafening and the ones that dove in it the most were Fuwamoco, the twins who had locked themselves in their room since that day, had not come out.
Just outside their door were a bunch of people, Koseki Bijou, Nerissa Ravencroft, their group manager and Cecilia. It was their 3rd attempt at trying to speak to the girls but they know better than to barge in without asking in times when they're unstable.
But they can't idly wait for them to ease up and walk out on their own, especially since it's been three whole days.
"Ugh...! Seriously, where's Shiori? She's the only one who they open up to the most." Nerissa pinched her nose.
"She's been gone for a week and we don't know where." Their manager answered. "It's an unfortunate part of her contract, she can go and come as she pleases without observation so long as it's nothing threatening to the company or the world."
"But can't we find her if it's important?" The short rock girl asked.
"We can't this time. We've asked miss Ina and a few other possible helpers from different branches but she's really just gone."
"At least you all came. We didn't want to cut your trip short but Fuwawa panicked and-"
"It's okay." Nerissa patted the manager's shoulder. "We'd answer that call anytime."
"If only Shiori thought like that..." Bijou pouted.
"Then we're just on our own until she remembers she has other people who need her." Cecilia walked past the others and mustered up the will to knock on the door.
"Girls, demons or not you need to step out for the sake of your health."
...
"You need to eat too, you're not even touching the Pon da rings Nerissa brought you."
...
"....bau..."
A muffled whimper leaked from the room. The sound on it's own was mild and saddened but it still put a partial smile on Cecilia's face.
"I'm coming in."
And she did, making sure even the twist of the knob was gentle and quiet. Walking in to see both girls idling in the most unusual ways. Mococo was hanging from their bunk bed while Fuwawa laid partially upside down on her gaming chair.
They were staring off into nothing. Cecilia already expected them to not meet eyes with her but it was rather strange how they felt disconnected even with each other. How dire was this new arrival for them to completely shift from their usual demeanor? That's what she's come to learn.
"Surprised you guys kept the room clean for once."
"We felt bad not letting Mane-san in so we just did it ourselves..."
"We didn't have anything else to do.""And why not?" Keeping a pull on her green skirt, Cecilia sat down on the mat and patted the floor.
The two girls crawled off their positions and came up to her with their drooped ears and dismissive eyes. Sticking side by side they sat before her with a lack of response mainly indicating a proper thought coming from them. They wanted to choose their words carefully.
