Chase's POV

These passed couple of days have been hard. Aside from the fact that the situation about the enemy pack hasn't been solved, there was still the issue about these hunters.

And other than that, my own situation was far from improved.

Given that I've managed to stop myself from a repeat of what happened in the forest near our school, killing all those animals and draining them dry before Aaron found me, I was starting to find it harder to control my thirst.

Day by day, I can feel it worsening. Going to the point where I had to skip class cause I was too afraid of just suddenly attacking my classmates and drinking their blood.

And what was worse? There was a deep part of me that wanted to do it.

Other times, I had to get out of school cause my fangs would suddenly come out. Due to the reason of a human just being close to me. I'd hear the loud thumps of their heart. Seeing the pulsing veins on their necks. It was becoming too much to bare.

I even remember thinking that it'd be to easy. All I needed to do was just sink my fangs into their necks to at least lessen my thirst.

Cause since the night of Lydia's death, I just couldn't find myself fully satiated anymore. Whatever I eat, even through the countless animals that I had bled dry, I was never full.

I knew that the others were worried about me but I was even more worried about them. I was worried that there'd come a day that I'd lose myself and hurt them.

Getting up from my bed, I was about to go to the bathroom when a sudden piercing pain erupted from my stomach. Causing me to fall, hunched over the floor of my room.

Another and another, the pain continued to grow. I wanted nothing more than to scream out but was unable to due to the unbearable pain I was feeling.

I was sweating hard, almost shaking. Coupling the pain was the grumbling sound that came as I clutch my stomach. Praying to the Goddess for the pain to disappear.

And it seemed like she heard me since the pain slowly faded away. Leaving me panting on the floor before I carefully got myself up.

I knew the reason for why I suddenly felt the pain. I've been having these kinds of episodes before when I started to control my growing thirst. And I knew what I had to do to ease the pain and keep it from happening again. For the time being at least.

So after making sure that I was better enough to go, I made sure to look around outside of my room window before jumping down. Grabbing my black hoodie before I did.

There were a number of our pack's warriors patrolling so I made sure to hide while slowly heading towards the covers of our territorie's forest.

Luckily, the wind was in my favour. Blowing towards my direction so I didn't have to worry about the warriors catching my scent.

Soon enough, I was in the forest. Running through at full speed. Heading towards the edge of our pack's territory.

I couldn't hunt animals here since I'd likely get caught which in turn will get me in trouble so I had to do it elsewhere.

Feeling the cold wind hitting me as I ran had somewhat made me feel relaxed. Hearing the calming sounds of nature as I left Bloodrose territory.

Being a hybrid, I reconed that it was the werewolf part of me that made me feel this way. Helping me forget about my ordeal for a split second.

I decided to keep running for five more minutes. Not worried about getting lost since I knew the areas inside and outside of our pack's borders. So I just wanted to be sure that I won't get caught by anyone from my pack.
