The darkness wrapped around you like a heavy blanket, pulling you deeper into itself. Everything was quiet—no sound, no pain, just an endless void.

On the other hand, Dan's body lay motionless. His eyes shot open, filled with desperation and fear. He coughed, gasping for air, scrambling to push himself up, his voice barely a whisper.

Dan: "Please... save me!"

The darkness in the room thickened, as though responding to his plea. Slowly, a figure materialized, its presence suffocating, an oppressive weight pressing down on everything.

The figure towered over Dan, a shadowy silhouette in the dim light, its form bending the very shadows around it. No face, no features—just a looming force of pure dread, draining the last remnants of warmth from the air.

Figure: "You were nothing but a tool, Dan. A vessel for a purpose greater than yourself."

The figure's voice was cold and unfeeling, like a wind from the abyss. Its hand hovered above Dan's body without touching it. In that instant, Dan's body convulsed, his mouth stretching in a silent scream as the dark energy that had sustained him was wrenched from his very core. His body collapsed, now an empty shell—no more than a hollow, lifeless husk.

Sana, watching in horror, could feel her heart racing, her breath caught in her throat. She had witnessed unspeakable things in these last moments, but this—the finality of it all—was the worst. Before the figure could fade, Sana shouted, her voice filled with desperation.

Sana: "What did you do to my brother?"

The figure, indifferent to her cry, did not respond. Instead, it dissolved into the shadows, leaving only the shell of what had once been Dan. No explanation, no solace—just the lingering echo of its dark power hanging in the air like the aftermath of a storm.

The sound of sirens blared, growing louder as they neared the house. Sana braced herself, expecting the arrival of the police, hoping for some semblance of help. But the first person who stepped through the shattered door wasn't a cop.

It was her mother.

Sana's breath hitched, her wide eyes locking onto the woman in the doorway. Her mother's face remained unreadable, calm amidst the chaos. The way she carried herself, her unshaken demeanor, told Sana more than words ever could.

Her mother had known all along.

Sana: "Mom...?"

In a dim, shadowy chamber beneath the surface, two figures moved through a series of strenuous exercises. A tall, armored woman stood in front of them, her sharp gaze scrutinizing their every move.

???: "Come on! You think you can make it to the Royal Guard like this? Push harder!"

One of the figures, a tall skeleton with a broad smile, struggled to keep up, gasping for breath as he attempted another push-up.
