3:30 pm.

I had just stepped out of the library after spending the whole day buried in textbooks, preparing for the upcoming midterm exams in October. Desperate for a break, I decided to grab a coffee.

My brother Enzo had made it his mission to visit me after spending the week in Ireland with his girlfriend, Adria. So here I was, waiting outside a local café near the university, scanning the bustling streets of London for a familiar face.

A few minutes later, a tall figure with dark hair and striking green eyes appeared, and I immediately recognized him. He had no suitcase, so I figured he'd already checked into a hotel.

I ran up to Enzo, throwing my arms around his neck as he lifted me effortlessly, spinning me a little. "Hey, kid!" he exclaimed, his grin wide.

"Jesus, you're already annoying me," I said, laughing as I hugged him again. "But how are you? I missed you!"

He chuckled softly and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead—a habit he'd kept ever since I was a baby. He always said it was his duty to shower me with love, especially since our mum had passed away. "I missed you too. How's my favorite sister holding up?"

" Im your only sister, and I'm surviving," I replied, pulling back to look up at him. "How are you and Ria?"

"She's good. Almost graduated, can you believe it? We're thinking about moving in together in Milan after that while she starts her boutique.. I'll just stick to work with Dad."

"That sounds amazing! Solid plan, huh? So when are you popping the question?" I grinned, my excitement bubbling like a kid who'd just seen her parents kiss.

Enzo rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smile. He draped his arm over my shoulder as we walked toward my apartment. "I don't know, Indie. I mean, she's 23, I'm 24. Maybe we should wait a few more years before making big moves."

"Yeah, but you two seem perfect for each other! What's the harm in planning a little?" I nudged him playfully.

He chuckled, shaking his head. "You're such a romantic. Just promise me you won't rush into anything crazy, alright? I'd rather not have to bail you out of trouble."

"Me? Trouble? Never!" I laughed, trying to feign innocence.

He gave me a skeptical look, the protective brother instinct kicking in. "Seriously, though. Have you made proper friends? You're not just hanging out with your books, right?"

"Mmm, yeah, quite a few," I said, feeling my cheeks warm. "We've become tight. They're great."

"Good. Just make sure you're hanging out with the right crowd. I don't want anyone giving you a hard time. You're still my little sister, you know?"
