After that day, there was a noticeable shift in Neev's behavior. He no longer held back and began openly expressing his love for Panchi. Yet, despite the growing affection, he had still not addressed his past behavior. The shame of his parents' deceit and cruelty continued to weigh heavily on him.

They spent all their time together now, commuting to and from the office, going out for meals, shopping, watching movies—just like a couple deeply in love. Neev showed Panchi all of Mumbai’s most beautiful spots.

He took her to parties and introduced her to his closest friends. It felt like they were living in a perfect world, and Panchi, who saw the change in him, was incredibly happy. She wished life would remain as blissful as it had become.

One evening, they decided to go on a date to one of Mumbai’s most luxurious hotels, the Four Seasons.

The venue’s Air Lounge was known for its romantic ambiance, the perfect atmosphere for a couple in love.

She looked stunning in a snow-white long dress, the hem adorned with silver sequins, her hair flowing naturally down her back, and she wore delicate pearl sandals.

He gazed at her in awe, hardly able to believe that the woman he had loved for so long was sitting there beside him. She looked so beautiful, and it stirred something deep inside him. He mumbled under his breath, “So beautiful…”

Unable to contain himself, Neev stood up, pulled a satin scrunchie from his pocket, and gently tied her hair back, making it easier for her to eat. The people around them noticed, some smiling at the sweet gesture, while others looked on with jealousy. Panchi was surprise.

After Neev sat down, she looked at him curiously and asked, “Why do you have a hair tie?”

After Neev sat down, she looked at him curiously and asked, “Why do you have a hair tie?”

He smiled slyly and replied, “Whose do you think it is?”

Panchi thought for a moment. Slowly, her face tightened, and a hint of sadness crept into her expression. Softly, almost as if she didn’t want to know the answer, she asked, “Do you have a girlfriend?”

Neev, completely unbothered, replied, “Yes, I do.”

Panchi’s heart sank. Her eyes filled with tears, and she stood, ready to walk away. But before she could, Neev grabbed her hand and pulled her back, locking eyes with her. “My girlfriend is you,” he said, his voice steady. “You’re my best friend, my girlfriend, and you will be my wife too.”

Panchi stood there, stunned. Relief washed over her like a wave, and her heart swelled with love. She smiled softly but couldn’t help but ask, “But how did you end up with my hair tie?”

Neev chuckled. “I kept it with me. I know you hate tying your hair. Even when we were kids, your mom used to chase you all over the house to get you to tie it up, and you’d run away saying, ‘I don’t want to tie my hair.’ Eventually, Aunty would come to me and ask me to do it for you, and you’d let me. Now, I’m even good at styling it. And don’t worry, I’ll be the one tying our daughters’ hair too.”

Panchi blushed bright red, playfully hitting him on the arm. She was overwhelmed with emotion but still managed to ask, “Neev, promise me you’ll never leave me. Promise you’ll always stay by my side.”

Neev’s gaze softened as he looked at her and replied, “I will never leave you, Panchi. I’ll stay with you until my last breath.” He then smiled cheekily and added, “Even if you try to leave me, I’ll chase after you.”

His deep gaze lingered on her, and for a moment, Panchi didn’t know what to say. She blushed, nervously twirling her hair as a sweet smile spread across her lips.

Neev realized that she was too shy to say anything else, so he leaned forward and said, “Let’s get married soon. I’ll talk to Mom and Dad as soon as we get home, and we’ll plan the wedding for next month. I can’t wait any longer.” His voice grew more serious. “I don’t know why, but recently I’ve had this strange feeling, like something bad is going to happen. Right now, you’re the most important thing in my life. I want us to be together as soon as possible. Once we’re married, no one will ever be able to come between us.”

He was sincere, his love for her evident in every word. But little did Neev know, their happiness was fleeting. These moments of joy were just a prelude to the storm that was about to hit.

In the dimly lit corner of the lounge, hidden in the shadows, sat another figure. Milind, a man with a menacing aura, watched them silently. He stared at Panchi with a gaze so intense, it was as if no one else in the room existed. His expression was hard, inappropriate even, given the nature of Neev and Panchi’s relationship. It was unsettling.

Milind had always maintained a detached, cold appearance, as though nothing ever affected him. Ever since he had come out of prison, he had carried himself with an air of indifference. His face was devoid of emotion, but beneath that hardened exterior lurked a monster. A monster capable of destruction.

Milind appeared calm, his demeanor nonchalant, but he was a beast lying in wait, ready to pounce at any moment. Though he looked uninterested, he was incredibly dangerous.

The peaceful evening had unknowingly set the stage for the chaos that was about to unfold. While Neev and Panchi enjoyed their night, unaware of the storm brewing, Milind was quietly waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
