As their friendship blossomed, Wukong found solace in Macaque's company, while Macaque appreciated Wukong's lightness and humor. They explored the town together, with Wukong teaching Macaque how to loosen up and enjoy life. Each day brought new adventures, laughter, and a growing understanding of each other.  But the looming shadow of their destinies still hung over them. One evening, while they sat by the river under the stars, Wukong noticed a flyer tacked to a nearby post. It was a bounty for him—ten million dollars for the capture of the infamous Wukong, complete with a description that made his skin crawl.

"Is this why you've been following me?" Wukong asked, his voice trembling. Macaque hesitated, guilt washing over him. "I was hired to find you... but it's not as simple as that. "What do you mean?" Wukong pressed, feeling a knot form in his stomach."I was meant to kill you," Macaque confessed, looking away, shame evident on his face. "But I couldn't do it. You're not just a target; you're a person. And I..."

Wukong's heart sank. "And you what? You've become friends with your prey? Macaque's eyes flicked up, desperation clear. "I didn't choose this! I'm just trying to survive, same as you. Their friendship felt like a fragile glass, teetering on the edge of shattering. Wukong felt betrayed but also understood the weight of Macaque's burden. "So, what now? Are you going to turn me in?"

"No!" Macaque exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency. "I won't let that happen. I'd rather face my own death than betray you."
