Jai stood at the edge of the city's underbelly, where the gleaming infrastructure of the Webrail intertwined with the shadows of forgotten alleys. The encrypted patterns of Sanrakshan had led him here-a nondescript entrance hidden among the maze of conduits and cables. His heart pounded as he approached the heavy steel door, its surface smooth except for a small, almost invisible scanner.

He placed his hand on the scanner, hoping the codes he had deciphered would grant him access. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, with a soft hiss, the door slid open, revealing a dimly lit corridor descending into the depths below.

Jai took a deep breath and stepped inside.

---

Dr. Omar Khoury watched the surveillance feed from his private control chamber, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Jai had taken the bait, following the path laid out for him. Khoury had ordered his security to lower the barriers, allowing Jai unfettered access to the core. It was time for them to meet.

"Sir, are you sure about this?" one of his aides asked hesitantly. "Letting him in could be a risk."

Khoury waved a dismissive hand. "He's no threat. In fact, his arrival is essential to the final phase of our plan."

The aide nodded and returned to monitoring the data streams.

Khoury leaned back, his eyes fixed on the screen displaying Jai's progress. "Come, Jai," he whispered. "It's time you learned the truth."

---

As Jai descended deeper into the complex, the sterile corridors began to change. The walls pulsed with a faint glow, and the air grew warmer, almost humid. He could feel a low hum vibrating through the floor-a sign that he was nearing the core of the Webrail.

Turning a corner, he found himself in a vast chamber. The sight took his breath away. Towering columns of light and data spiraled upward, intertwining like the threads of a colossal web. At the center stood a massive console, surrounded by holographic displays projecting complex algorithms and neural networks.

"Welcome, Jai," a voice echoed through the chamber.

Jai spun around to see Dr. Khoury emerging from behind the central console, his silhouette framed by the cascading lights.

"Khoury," Jai said tersely. "I knew you'd be here."

Khoury approached with a calm demeanor, hands clasped behind his back. "I've been expecting you. You've been quite persistent in your search."

"Cut the pretense," Jai snapped. "I know Aisha is connected to this place. I want answers."

Khoury raised an eyebrow. "Straight to the point, I see. Very well."

He gestured toward the central console. "This is the heart of the Webrail, the culmination of decades of innovation and sacrifice."

Jai's gaze followed Khoury's gesture. "And what does that have to do with my sister?"

Khoury sighed softly. "Everything."

---

Khoury began to circle the console, his fingers trailing over the holographic projections. "Aisha was an extraordinary mind, as you know. Her contributions to the development of the Webrail were invaluable."

Jai clenched his fists. "She disappeared. No one could tell me what happened to her. Did you-did you harm her?"

Khoury looked at him with feigned sympathy. "Harm her? No, Jai. Quite the opposite. I helped her achieve her greatest potential."
