38 - Break in

"Guys!!! we have a problem!!" I hear Namjoon yell as he runs down the stairs, follwed by Yoongi, Hobi, and Taehyung.

"What's going on?" I ask curiously.

"While all of you were down here playing, who shot the gun, someone managed to break into the archives," Hobi says, out of breath.

"Who the hell would've broken in? no one even knows we're here!!" Jin yells, finally letting go of Jungkook's ear.

"well, it's not a ghost who broke in," Yoongi mumbles from the side, earning a smack on the arm from Taehyung.

"Ok hold on!!" I yell over them all "Why would anyone wanna break into just the archives? I mean, if they wanted to come after us, wouldn't they go after, say, the arsenals or hack the security cameras? Why the archives?"

Everyone goes silent, thinking about what i had asked.

"That...is a good point." jungkook mumbles out, rubbing his ear.

"Let's go see what's missing...if anything even is," Jimin says, walking up the stairs and to the archives.

When we get to the archives, we're greeted with the sight of multiple shelves of files books and papers sprawled out on the ground, some toppled on top of each other.

"Which idiot left a bomb in here?" yoongi asks, clearly cofused and furious at the Sight.

"This might take days to clean up...then to go through them all to see if we're missing any? That's too much time..." Hobi adds.

"We better get started then..." I sigh and go to pick up the files that are lying on the floor.

I pick up the file into my hands and look around, seeing that all the files related to my parents were the ones tossed onto the ground. The ones that I've read. I glance around for a second then I gasp softly and turn to the guys.

"Project L. That's the missing file."

"what the heck is a project L?" taehyung asks. i just turn to jimin

"Remember when you came to get me from here and I was holding a file?"

He nods "Yeah...what about it?"

"thats the only file on my parents that I havent read. If you look closely, all the files on the ground are the ones that are somewhat, in shape or form, related to my parents. These are the ones that i've read for the past week or so. I was about to finish with that last one. then this happened." I mumble out, tossing the file that was previously in my hands, onto the pile.

"so you're saying, this Project L file is either extremely useful...."

"or someone doesn't want me reading it" I finish Jimin's sentence.

"or... they want to use whatever is in that file against us," Namjoon adds.

"let's assume it's the first one then," I glance at namjoon "You mentioned that theres an archive in every safe house, but are there digital copies?"

"nope. You can hack through the firewall and get the online copies if we made any so we ruled that out."

"Every safe house has a copy... " I sigh and think

"where's the nearest safe house?"
