The morning sun streamed through the curtains of Y/n's room, casting a warm glow over his bed as he lay sprawled out, lazily listening to the radio. The soft hum of static was soon replaced by the smooth voice of the announcer.

"This Sunday, September 30th, marks the annual Fireworks Festival in Higashicho! Be sure to mark your calendars and prepare for a dazzling night of lights and celebration!"

The moment Y/n heard the words Sunday and Fireworks Festival, his mind drifted back to something he had overheard once-The Quintuplets had been eagerly looking forward to this event for quite some time. He could almost hear their excited voices chattering about the beautiful colors that would paint the night sky.

A small smirk tugged at his lips. They're definitely going to the festival, he thought.

Shifting his attention back to his handheld console, he muttered to himself, "Well, today's a vacation day. No tutoring sessions, no chasing after the Quints... I can finally focus on my shiny hunt."

With that, he sank deeper into the comfort of his bed, his fingers skillfully maneuvering the buttons of his 3DS emulator. The soft clicking of the buttons filled the room as he immersed himself in the hunt.

Just as he was getting into the rhythm, the sudden chime of the doorbell echoed through the house. Y/n's brow furrowed. Who could that be?

Reluctantly, he paused his game and dragged himself to the door. When he opened it, his eyes landed on a familiar figure standing outside.

There stood Itsuki Nakano, dressed in an elegant yet casual outfit. She wore a baggy orange cold-shoulder top that hung loosely over her frame, contrasting with the long, plain white skirt that flowed down to her ankles. A leather handbag rested against her thigh, its strap slung diagonally over her shoulder.

For a brief moment, Y/n blinked. Maybe it was just his imagination. Why would Itsuki be here, on their vacation day of all times?

Without another thought, he nonchalantly closed the door.

A beat of silence.

Then-

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"HEY! Y/N!!" Itsuki's frustrated voice rang from the other side of the door, followed by a few more forceful knocks.

"WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE DOOR?! OPEN IT!!"

Realizing that he hadn't just imagined things, Y/n let out a deep sigh. Itsuki was really here-standing outside his house, loudly demanding that he reopen the door.

He hesitated for a moment before finally reaching for the doorknob, pulling the door open once more.

Itsuki stood there with her arms crossed, a small pout on her lips as she looked at him in mild annoyance.

Y/n let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his head as a bead of sweat trickled down his temple.

"U-umm... hey, Itsuki. Sorry about that," he said awkwardly. "I thought I was just seeing things for a second."

Itsuki narrowed her eyes slightly. "Seeing things?"

"Uh, never mind," Y/n quickly waved off the comment, eager to change the subject. "But, uh... how do you even know where my house is? And even if you did, why'd you suddenly come here?"

Itsuki sighed, her expression softening as she adjusted the strap of her handbag. "Well, I had something to give you," she explained before reaching into her bag.

Y/n watched as she rummaged around for a moment before finally pulling out a plain white envelope. Holding it out toward him, she said, "Here, Y/n. My father left your payment with me."
