Unspoken tensions

Mya's POV:
I woke up still in Paige's arms, startled by the team screaming at us to get up. Everyone was looking at us, and I think they thought something happened between us, but we didn't do anything. I patted Paige on the back, telling her to wake up. Paige stirred, blinking awake, and noticed everyone staring. Nika chimed in, "Good morning! Why y'all looking like that?"

I responded, "I just woke up. Sorry, did we have to go somewhere?"

Kk jumped in, "What were y'all doing?"

Paige quickly replied, "We weren't doing anything. We just woke up."

Nika, louder now, said, "Well, guys, get up because we're going to Starbucks. Y'all got 20 minutes before we leave."

We said, "Okay," and everyone left the room. Paige then asked, "You wanna shower first?"

"Yeah, thank you. I'll be quick."

Ten minutes later, I got out of the shower and threw on a graphic tee, jeans, and my red Jordan 1s. Paige walked into the bathroom in just a sports bra and basketball shorts, fresh from her own shower. My face turned red when I saw her abs.

Paige smirked, "You good? Never seen abs before?"

"I have, it's just... yours caught me off guard."

"Not surprised," Paige laughed. She pulled on a shirt and jeans, and we both finished getting ready.

We headed to the kitchen, where everyone was waiting for us.

"Finally! Y'all ready?" Kk teased. "Let's go. Paige, we're taking your car."

"Okay, sassy Kk," Paige joked, making me laugh.

We all piled into Paige's car and drove to Starbucks.

Paige's POV:
We arrived at Starbucks and got out. I held the door open for Mya, and our hands kept brushing against each other. I wanted to hold hers, but I was too nervous. We ordered, paid, and then sat down to wait for our drinks.

Ten minutes later, our drinks were ready. As we sat back down, I noticed something seemed off with Mya—her hands and legs were shaking.

"Mya, are you okay? You look nervous," I asked. The whole team looked at her.

Mya responded quickly, "Umm, no, I'm fine. I gotta catch you guys later. Thanks for having me."

She got up and rushed out. I caught up to her and grabbed her waist—not on purpose, but just to stop her.

"Mya, what's wrong? You don't seem okay. I won't tell anyone," I said gently.

"I'm sorry, Paige, but I really have to go. Bye," she replied, pulling away and leaving in an Uber.

I went back to the table, unable to shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Azzi asked, "Paige, what just happened?"

"I don't really know. I tried asking her, but she said she had to go and left," I explained.

Nika chimed in, "You didn't stop her?"

"No, I didn't want to force her to stay. She might think I'm being aggressive."

"Where do you think she went?" someone asked.

"Maybe her dorm? Let's go and check," I suggested.

Everyone agreed.

"Does anyone know her dorm room?" I asked.

"Yeah, I know it," Azzi replied.

Ten minutes later, we arrived. "Come on, guys," I said, urging them to move faster. We reached her dorm, and I knocked.
