*Kitty's POV*

I stare over at her from the back of the class. God she's beautiful. Wavy and almost curly black hair so long she could sit on it. It's in a complicated assortment of white fluffy bows, and lacy things in the two long braids framing her hair. It's soft too, I'd bet. Shes Latina with golden tan skin and adorned in white, gold and green to match her eyes. She has to be some sort of goddess. She seems to glow somehow.

She brushes some hair over her shoulder and I pull my notebook closer feeling caught. I'd sketched her all over my notes. Her eyes, her nose, her hips, neck, and the shape of her lips as they formed into a smile. I never could quite capture her glow. Her hand raises, it always does, she's some sort of genius and she volunteers at the food shelter that my family used to go to. I say "used to" because I begged my mom to go to one in the other direction when we walked in and I spotted Valentina/the girl of my dreams standing there giggling while trying to shove her hair into a hair net.

Anyways she's perfect, doesn't know I exist, is way out of my league, and I think if I manage to learn a little more about her I won't be able to just call this a crush anymore. The bell rings and I jump. When I haul my 20 pound backpack full of paint on, my notebook falls and skids across the floor wide open but thankfully I snatch it before Valentina can see it. I walk to my art class, heart pounding.

*Goddess's POV*

I like to think that I'm a good person. I like to think that I'm kind and that I'm caring but when I look at this boy... I just want to hurt him. He reminds me of a skittish little kitty and so do my feelings towards him. Like when you see a cat so cute you just want to lovingly bite its head off. It's called cute aggression, this feeling. The hormones oxytocin and vasopressin affect social processes in mammals when they interact. It gets a little funky at some point and suddenly something's so cute you just need to kill it. Regardless I want to hurt him. In the sexual aspect and I don't feel completely comfortable with my thoughts.

My friend Cali waves aggressively at me from the corner of the coffeehouse. She's got on her blue boots she never takes off and the big smile she also never takes off. She's a ball of sunshine in every sense of it, down to her frizzy blonde hair to the hazle eyes that glitter in the sunlight and make her look like she's about to tell you the future.

Then there's Olivia with her permanent scowl and the droopy Afro smushed by her chunky headphones that professor Connolly is going to have a conniption about. Cali got her blue eyeliner for her birthday and she wears it every day with some sort of band tee shirt with lettering so squiggly it's illegible. Before I can greet them Cali grabs my shoulders with too much excitement. Oh no... she's got gossip and by the crazed look in her eye it involves me.

*Kitty's POV*

"Sketchbook check!" My crazed art teacher exclaims. She specializes in landscapes and screaming for no discernible reason. As a fine arts major I have to endure her at 10am. I lug my sketchbook out of my backpack and flip to a page not covered in portraits of her. Ms. Screams a lot makes us write about what we drew because apparently this is literacy and not art anymore.

An hour later class is ending and so is my will to graduate. I have a break for lunch and I wander to a nearby coffeehouse because I have an extra couple dollars and if eat the same thing again I might just vomit. While I'm standing in line I spot Valentina in the corner laughing with her friends, Sunshine and the Rain Cloud. I don't know their names so they get nicknames. Once I put my order in I walk over and take a seat in a chair behind Rain Cloud, at another table.

This is by far the most stalkery thing I've done so far, and while I know I should feel bad, all I feel is adrenaline. I hear some repressed giggles and gasps and stare at my phone wondering what they're talking about. After a while Valentina loudly remarked that she was excited for the party they were going to this Friday. Chills ran up my spine and I knew I was about to do something a lot more stalkery and go.
