"who's got you texting on your phone again?" the redhead asks with annoyance in her tone. "it's just mason calm down. and besides, you haven't even picked a movie yet" dani responds.

the two best friends were at mika's apartment just spending the day together. they didn't feel like dressing up today, so here they are in comfy clothing with snacks and blankets around them while they try to pick a movie to watch.

well it was mostly mika finding a movie and dani being on her phone but nonetheless.

"you two never stop yapping do you?" mika asks her best friend. "not at all" she replies as a small smile appears on her face when her phone pinged.

mika's face changes in confusion as she says "ma'am what was that? why does he have you smiling. am i missing something here?"

"what are you talking about?" dani says with genuine confusion and a little concern.

"your face literally lit up when you heard your phone ping" the redhead says. her brain was racking. "bitch you like him don't you?!?" she exclaims as she suddenly bursts out laughing.

she always thought that there were some sparks between them that they clearly couldn't see. but she was happy for her best friend. she always would be.

the redhead still continues laughing while dani responds "wait what no i don't what the fuck."

"mhm sure dani sure. you literally cannot lie to me because i know you. and you like him!!" mika says while still chuckling a little bit. "no i do not! we're just friends trust me. i don't want to ruin that"

mika lets out an exasperated sigh "ugh fine but just so you know, i think he likes you too" she says as she turns back to the tv.

"no he does not mika. there's no way he even could. and i don't either! we're just close friends okay?" dani tells her best friend.

"that's what they all say, but fine whatever you say i guess. but just so you know, i just caught you lacking" mika comments.

"yeah yeah whatever" the brunette responds.

there was no possible way that her and mason could ever be more than friends. and besides, she's never had a relationship like that. what if it turns out to be a disaster? what if it ends horribly? she wouldn't risk it. would she?

the brunette quickly snapped out of her thoughts as mika exclaims "anyways it's your birthday tomorrow GET EXCITED! i'm gonna do you so dirty for my post."

"you better not mika or i swear" dani replies. she didn't even realize tomorrow was gonna be her special day.

she was excited. she didn't really have any plans to celebrate but as long as she had the people that meant most to her, she wouldn't change it for the world.
