Into Takezo's dream
Takezo’s dream transported him back three years into the past. He was seated in a cab with his father, Atsuo, as they headed toward a five-star hotel. The gleaming structure rose high above them, its grandeur making Takezo feel small and out of place. His hand hovered over the door handle, hesitating to open it.
“Should we really go in there?” Takezo asked, his voice uncertain as he glanced up at the towering building. “It looks pretty expensive.”
Atsuo chuckled, his warm, fatherly grin lighting up his face. “Don’t worry about the money, idiot. It’s your birthday! Just relax and let your father take responsibility.”
Takezo frowned, still unsure. “Are you sure?”
“Of course I’m sure,” Atsuo replied, clapping a reassuring hand on his son’s shoulder. “Your birthday comes once a year, my boy. Forget about the cost and enjoy it. I’ve been here before—it’s not that expensive. We can easily afford it.”
Though Takezo still felt a knot of unease, he trusted his father’s words. He stepped out of the cab and followed Atsuo into the lavish hotel. The moment they entered, Takezo’s eyes widened at the sight of the magnificent lobby. Chandeliers sparkled above, and marble floors stretched out beneath their feet. The opulence of the place made him feel even more out of place, but Atsuo seemed completely at ease.
[In an accident Shinmen Atsuo lost his left arm which led him to not perform surgery anymore which was he's main arsenal
Even though Takezo's father was Above middle class in his prime but this event made him his source of income less compared to when he was a surgeon
He continued being and doctor and decided to not Quit doing something good for the society]They took their seats at a table, and Takezo instinctively reached for the menu’s cheapest items. His father, noticing his hesitation, snatched the menu from his hands.
“You underestimate your father too much,” Atsuo said, shaking his head with a playful smile.
“No, it’s fine,” Takezo mumbled. “I don’t want to eat much.”
“Shut up,” Atsuo retorted, waving him off.
Their meals soon arrived, and they began eating in comfortable silence. Atsuo glanced at Takezo after a while, his eyes filled with curiosity.
“So, Takezo,” Atsuo began, his tone casual, “have you decided what to study after your 10th grade?”
Takezo paused, setting his fork down. “Not really,” he said honestly. “But to be honest, studying isn’t really my thing. I’m thinking about starting a business of my own instead.”
Atsuo raised an eyebrow but smiled warmly. “I see,” he said. “What happened to that old dream of saving the world?”
Takezo rolled his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. “Stop teasing me already, Dad.”
Atsuo chuckled, his laughter light and full of nostalgia. “You used to say that all the time when you were a kid. It was adorable.”
“Kids say a lot of dumb things,” Takezo muttered, though a small smile tugged at his lips. “I’m sure you said something like that when you were younger, too.”
