Raphael's POV

I sit back relaxed on the couch in the VIP hospital room where Serena is sleeping, her face so innocent and serene as I ponder on my thoughts restlessly. Today's event just doesn't make sense, 'Why was she so enraged when I called her Reina? What was really wrong? Why did she black out?'. These questions just keep turning over and over in my head as I try to make sense of what happened and the only conclusion I can come to is that someone who once used to call her that name, hurt her badly.

Serena stirs restlessly, and I walk towards her, stopping by her bedside. I brush the tendrils of her hair away from her face before laying a soft peck on her forehead. "I'll be back, piccola tigre (little tiger), wait for me," I murmur softly, turning to walk out, but she catches my hand, pulling me back.

"Don't go, stay," She murmurs, her hand falling away as she goes back to sleep.

"Don't worry, Reina. I'll find out who hurt you, and I'll never leave you again," I promise under my breath as I tuck her in, fully intending to keep my promise.

I walk out of the hospital room, bringing my phone out to dial Thor. "Watch her and don't leave your post," I tell the bodyguard stationed there as I walk out of the room.

"Yes, sir! What do I tell the young lady when she's awake?" The bodyguard named Eric asks with a stoic expression

"Look at me!" I order, but his expression doesn't even crack, as he looks me dead in the eye. That's what I expect of my men.

"Do not leave her unattended to, or your comrades will be attending to a cold corpse tomorrow." I walk away, phone in hand, as I call Thor.

"Hey Thor, I need your help. How soon can you get to The Hangout ?" I get into my car in the parking lot; I start the car with a burst and zoom away.

                ********************

"Thor, when are you getting here?" I  climb out of my car and walk to the house in front. The thing about this house is that it's just a facade. I push open the front door and walk in, heading for the cupboard in the hall. The cupboard is floor to ceiling and is fixed. I open the cupboard door and push aside the clothes, using my eye to scan the small panel at the back.

"Iris detected," The automechanism attached says, as the fake back of the cupboard slides open, revealing an elevator. I climb in the elevator and push the ground floor button as the elevator starts to descend. It finally stops, and the doors slide open to reveal a normal looking corridor. I made the hallway, so even if someone does manage to get through the false cupboard, they won't be able to find anything.

I walk out the elevator and stride to the left. A sad looking flowerpot sits on the mahogany table in the corridor, I push it aside and scan my fingerprint in the hidden scanner on the table. The wall slides to the right, with a grating sound. I step into the room, and the door slides shut. The room is filled with computers, flashing lights. Everyone is dressed in black, some are talking into headphones, some are controlling drones, and some are typing away on their various computers.

I walk past and head to the panel in the wall. I press my right hand to it, and a door sized part of the wall slides up. I walk into my office, push open the closed laptop, and settle down on the chair.

"Hey, Ralph," Thor says as he walks in, the wall sliding shut behind him.

"About time, Sansez," I reply, not looking up, as I hack into the Monarch's surveillance system to find out what really happened at that wedding.

"Why did you disturb my crusade, Ralph. Hope it better be something important, for your sake as well as mine," Thor asks, rounding the desk to stand at my side.

"I want to investigate someone. I want to know whether that person has gone through a horrible experience as a child.

"Leave it me. I'll find it for you. Who is it?"

"Serena Diego," I stand from the chair and offer it to Thor as he ties his long black hair back.

"Did you seriously interrupt my day for that money grabbing bitch!?" Thor asks banging the table, his expression hardening.

"I'm having doubts about that fact. Something happened to her when she was a child, and maybe it can bring to light the truth. Anyway, I just want to know who hurt her and how. Can you do that?" I face Thor with one of my eyebrows arched in question.

"Yes, I can, but I'm only doing it because it's you," Thor says, sitting down as he sticks a pencil behind his right ear. He slides the laptop towards him and starts hacking.

"How long will it take Thor?" I ask, pacing the perimeter of the confined space. I am claustrophobic and can't be in confined spaces for long.

"I don't know how long, but I do know that someone went through great pains to erase her past. There is nothing of her anywhere. It is hidden well but not perfectly, so it might take a few weeks for me to find something." Thor replies, fiddling with the pencil behind his ear.

"I have to leave, Thor. I need to get back to Serena, so I'll be back tomorrow,"

"I have a question, Ralph. Why do you need me for this job. We both know you can find this easier, so why?"

"I don't feel right, checking up on her," I reply as I turn to walk out the door

"Since when did you care about right or wrong?" Thor asks with a grin on his face. It makes me feel like punching it off.

"Bye, Sansez," I say, walking our of the office as I make my way back to the only person that had made me question my self made rules.
