Serena's POV

There's a slight pause as she contemplates Veronica's words. She looks at us, scanning our appearances before she scoffs, amused. "You don't actually expect me to believe that, do you?" Tori asks, folding her arms as she stares at us in disbelief.

"Believe it or not, I don't care, but I want to see your manager. Right this moment!" Veronica bursts out, getting more enraged.

"Even if you are the daughter in law of my boss, you can't waltz in here like you own the shop, demanding to see my manager," Tori replies, rolling her expressive eyes.

Veronica storms towards her, her eyes blazing with fury. I grab hold of her tightly and drag her back.

"Ronnie, it's alright, let me solve this, my way," I tell her, smiling gently.

"Are you sure? Can you handle her?" She asks, staring at me doubtfully. I smile in reassurance, turning to face the shop assistant.

"Excuse me, Tori. I'm sorry, let's start again," I say, smiling sweetly.

"What are you doing, Serena? Why are you apologising?" Ava asks in an undertone, nudging me.

"Trust me, Ava," I reply, patting her hand. I look away from her and back to Tori, smiling.

"Glad that you've finally come to your senses. You can't afford anything in here, so leave quietly by yourselves before I call security," Tori says, pointing at the door.

"Let's start again. I want all the dresses in your display windows and all the clothes on this rack," I say, pointing randomly at the nearest clothes rack that has a beautiful black gown with white stripes and big gold buttons on the front.

Tori scoffs loudly, staring at me in irritation. "Hey! Who do you think you are?" She asks, scoffing in indignation.

"The soon-to-be owner of this store and your soon-to-be boss," I answer softly, taking out my phone. I sigh softly, thinking hard about what I'm about to do. 'I really don't like him, but I have to ask him for this favor. I can't let Ronnie and Ava be embarrassed by that snobby shop assistant,' I tell myself in my head, bolstering my resolve. I dial Raphael's number, grimacing softly.

"What do you think you're doing? Do you think it's possible for you to pretend to call someone and make me believe you're actually calling my boss. You don't have the right to even wipe his shoes, not to talk of actually marrying him," Tori says, her smirk becoming even more malicious.

The phone rings, and at the last second, he picks up the call. I stare at the phone in my hand blankly, wondering what in the hell I'm doing. I finally put the phone to my ear as I hear Ava and Ronnie talking in undertones, and I tell myself it's for Ava and Ronnie.

"Hey," I say, waiting to hear his husky drawl over the phone.

"What do you want, piccola tigre?(little tiger)," Raphael's voice asks over the phone as delicious tingles dance over my skin at his voice. The hairs on my neck stand, and goosebumps appear on my forearms.
