Nico

She looks taken aback, those voluminous eyes of hers are wide, and glint like emeralds in the light. "I was not lurking. I came down for a glass of water."

"Then why were you hiding by the door?"

"I heard you talking, and you know what? Forget it, Nico. If I overheard your conversation that's just the way it is. Perhaps next time you should keep your office door closed."

"I have no secrets from you Lucky or anyone, if I wanted to lock the world out, I would go to my underground office." It's not so much an office as a bunker space, it runs under the property and has many suites and rooms coming off it, with a space that is a small office. I have a team of staff working down there who monitor all activity above ground. You can call it the engine of the house I guess; it is there to protect anyone who comes to this property.

My drone pilots are down there and come up every eight hours and swap shifts. There are two entrances, one by trap door hidden away under a large slate tile in the kitchen on which stands the main kitchen island, at the press of a button it will slide and reveal the trap door. The other entrance is out the back of my property hidden by shrubs that cannot be detected from above. Security is my priority and now with Lucky in my life, I feel I need even more.

"And who is Yelena Sokolova?" Her voice is piqued with interest.

"Damned if I know, Aurora is looking further into it and my team. Within a few short hours I will hopefully know more. Until I do know, you are remaining inside the perimeter of this property. If I had my way you wouldn't even leave the house."

"Good job you don't have your way. Listen, I know this is serious Nico. I'm not dumb I come from a mafia family, thankfully my father still lives to tell his morbid stories, but I am not an innocent. You have everything locked down tightly here, I can go out and get fresh air."

"With a detail." She rolls her lips together, her eyes glint.

"Very well. Now, I need water." I'm taken with her in her silk robe, it is tied around her small waist, that I can wrap my hands around with ease, her breasts are pushed up where she has her arms crossed in front of her chest. I'm drawn to them, mesmerized by the cream flesh, the softness and the reminder of what they feel like in my palm. My dick twitches.

"Are you hungry?" She asks me. "I could eat, do you have ice cream?"

"We have everything your heart would desire. Let's go. No more talk about assassins and attempted shootings. I need a break from all of this." I sound weary because I am. It's exhausting watching my back every minute of the day. Even though I have high end security and detail, I know that if someone wants to hurt me or my family they will.

I follow her swaying hips into the kitchen, Lucky flicks the lights on. We are suddenly drowned in bright light. I reach for the round protruding switch and dim it some. The large double fridge/freezer stands to the left of the large kitchen space. Lucky goes over and opens the doors, closes the fridge and reaches in the freezer section for a large tub of ice cream.

"Do you think it's a Russian assassin come to kill you or me?" She sits down at the island with the tub and two spoons she found rifling through the distressed pine cabinets.

"I have no idea; my guess is at both of us but I could be wrong. It might be that you are the target to get to me. It could be anyone of the families out of there."

I take a seat next to her and reach for a spoon. "Mm, this is so good. I love pistachio ice cream, it's my favorite."

"I know." She shoots her eyebrows up.
