Niall's POV

Beep. Beep. Beep.

That's all I can hear. The beeping of the heart monitor. Mollie lies motionless in the cold, white hospital bed, tubes and wires sticking all over her. I hate seeing her like this! I held her hand and watched her slow breathing. She has been in the hospital for six days and nothing has changed. She is still asleep. I say asleep, what I really mean is that she is in a coma. She lost a lot of blood and they had to take her into surgery the second she got in the hospital to remove the bullet from her upper thigh.

"Mr. Horan, visiting hours are over. I'm sorry." The nurse said from the door.

I nodded and stood up and placing Mollie's hand on the bed. "I love you Mol, I'll be back tomorrow I promise!" I smiled kissing her forehead.

I walked out of the hospital with my hands in my pockets, ignoring the paps shoving their cameras in my face. I walked to my car and pulled out of the parking lot. When I got to my flat I walked straight to my room. I smiled at the small mouse in the cage in the corner of the room. "Hey James!" I smiled.

He squeaked in response and started to eat some of the food in his little dish in the corner. I can see why Mollie kept him, he is good company and he is quite adorable.

I crawled into my bed and closed my eyes, visions of that day flashing through my mind.

*flashback*

"I love you." Mollie said as her eyes close.

"MOLLIE!" I screamed. Charlie ran over and started to comfort me as I rocked Mollie's body back and forth.

She put her fingers on her neck. "She is still alive Niall! The ambulance is on it's way!"

"Charlie can you do me a favour?" She nodded. "There is a mouse in the bunker, Mollie's mouse. Can you get it and drop it off in my flat? He will just sleep in the can."

Charlie looked confused but nodded and walked over to the bunker. I heard the distinct sounds of the ambulance and waved my hand in the air.

"Charlie told us what happened. We need to take her to the hospital right now!"

"Can I come?" I asked as they loaded her onto a stretcher. "I'm her boyfriend"

"Sure" the paramedic said. I followed them and sat beside her and held her hand.

"Wrap up her leg, she will need surgery. How are vitals?" he asked a young woman sitting by her head.

"Heart beat is slow and uneven breathing but other than that fine. There also seems to be an old wound on her head though it is healing. Looks likes a few weeks ago."

"Probably when they kidnapped her. They hit her over the head. She as first aid so she probably wrapped it up herself." I said looking at the cut on her head.

"Is she allergic to anything?"

"Just pollen." I said looking at her worryingly.

"Don't worry, if we get her into surgery quick enough she will be just fine!" I nodded. We pulled into the local hospital and she was immediately rushed into surgery as I helplessly waited in the waiting room. I called the boys and Simon and explained everything and they seemed ok with it. The boys even wanted to drive down to see her but I told them it would be pointless seeing as she is surgery.

I fell asleep on the hard plastic chairs waiting for her to come out. A few hours later a nurse shook me awake. "She is out of surgery sweetie but the doctor said she may be in a coma for a little while. We aren't totally sure. Tomorrow she is being transported to the hospital in her area for connivance and so she is closer to home."
