“No! I didn't, I swear!”

Alyssa took one look at Rosalie and knew she was telling the truth straight away.

To be frank, the Nielsen girl never thought her best friend would do such a thing. But with almost the whole school telling you otherwise, it's hard not to believe them.

Especially with the image of them cuddled up that morning still engraved in her mind.

She took a seat beside Bailey, taking note of the distraught look on Rosie's face.

“Why didn't you wake me and Benj up this morning?”

“We woke up crazy late and we had to rush to school! I didn't have time to fix my hair, make up, clothes, anything! I'm wearing his sweater for goodness sake! Do you know how bad this looks? I can't even imagine how bad this must be affecting Benji!”

Rosalie's mini rant was only loud enough for her two friends to hear. Evidently, she was on her breaking point. But even at rock bottom, she tried her best to remain stable.

“Sorry, Rose. I thought you set an alarm... you always do.” Alyssa wasn't one to admit they were wrong, let alone apologize. The blonde girl was aware of that, the apology meaning infinitely more to her.

Rosalie immediately blamed herself.

How could she have forgotten?

“It's gonna be okay, Rose.” Bailey spoke.

“It's mostly freshmen who bought into the rumours anyways. You're friends with a shit ton of people, I'm sure they know you well enough to know that you wouldn't do something like that.”

Rosalie seemed to calm herself at the curly-headed girl's words.

Bailey was right.

Rosie had connections all over the school. But even then, a bunch of newly-graduated middle schoolers thinking she was a one night stand girl that gets with freshmen wasn't exactly on the Bennet girl's to-do list.

As she sulked in her seat, the boy involved in the gossip swiftly approached the trio.

“Uh...Rosie?” The girl recognized his voice. She stopped hiding her face in her hands to look at him.

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down from gulping nervously. “You heard...didn't you?”

“Yeah, I did.” Her voice carried obvious sorrow. “I'm sorry. If I just set an alarm, none of this would've happened.”

Rosalie looked up at him, her expression guilt-ridden.

“What!? No, no. It's not your fault.” Benj scrambled to assure her. At this point, he was used to her behaviour. Constantly taking the blame for things that wasn't fully her fault. It was a bit bad for his reputation, sure. Though, he couldn't imagine how much worse it was for her.

A few boys in his grade had congratulated him throughout the day — wannabe fuckboy's that he didn't even know.

Along with that, he overheard conversations about Rosalie.
