Streber (Chap 11)

I was walking to Kevin's with a pen and note pad in my hand, dressed in a dark magenta shirt with black pants and a block tape that was green on the inside. I adjusted my red classes and bit my tongue with my fangs. Halloween was coming up and I was still stressing. Keeping it to myself wasn't gonna cut it so I knew talking to Kevin would fix the stress, hopefully at least. I ringed the door bell and after a few minutes he opened it and smiled, letting me in before shutting the door.

"Hey strebzy, what's up?" He looked to me before offering a seat on the couch then walking to the kitchen to make some hot cocoa.

"I'm good just, I didn't know who to talk to and I keep stressing over Halloween. Like, what if the haunted house becomes a total disaster! Everything goes wrong and nobody likes it, then I'm seen as a total idiot along with my friends..."

Kevin looked over to me and sighed. He finished making the hot cocoa and out some whipped cream on top before walking over to me on the couch and sat down, handing me a cup.

"Streber you're a smart, pretty and amazing. I'm sure you and your friends will do just fine. Trust me." Kevin smiled at me, and jeez, his smile really made me feel better every time he did. It was like it was only for me. 

"Thanks Kev... that means the world to me." I looked to the side with a small blush before I looked back to him. "Wanna... go out to the river after we're done with our hot coca."

Kevin nodded and took a sip of his before rubbing my head, making me giggle softly. "Sure thing you dork."

We finished drinking our cocoa and I dressed into my stripped red and green sweater and slipped a gray shirt over it with a little black bat printed on it before slipping in some jeans and bat earrings before adjusting my glasses. Kevin just put on a link sweater with a candy on it, jeans, and some blue lollipop heart earrings. We headed out the door and down the street, walking together hand in hand. The nice breeze of fall air was nice and soothing. Once we got to the river he stared down at it and I turned to look up at him, smiling softly. Kevin noticed and let out a soft hum before looking at me.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He chuckled a bit with a raised eyebrow and I just looked away with a shy smile.

"I dunno..." I lied, though I couldn't help it, I got nervous around him. I was mid thought when I felt a hand on my cheek turn my head. I looked at Kevin with wide eyes as we stared at each other.

We stared at each other for god knows how long until we leaned into a soft kiss for a few seconds, our hands locking together before we pulled away. I blinked with wide eyes but not in a bad way. I felt Kevin brush a lock of hair out of my eyes wish made me into a mushy pile before I hugged him tightly, burying my face in his neck as I blushed more. I don't remember much from that night other than we kissed a few more times and we laid by the river, looking up at the stars or watching the fish swim by, my hand always locked with his. We took a few pictures every now and then or just making each other laugh. It was nice to have him back, to be able to be with him again. After a while we headed back home instead of us going to our separate homes I decided to stay the night with Kevin. Of course we didn't do any funny business, we just sat down and watched a few Halloween movies before heading off to bed.

A week went by as it was mainly just me preparing for Halloween. I finally got the mirror set up after a long day and sighed, standing in my kitchen as I grumbled before grabbing the two wires for the mirror.
