The atmosphere on campus was buzzing with excitement as the 100th anniversary of the university approached. Preparations were in full swing, with banners hanging from buildings and students discussing the upcoming celebrations in hushed but eager tones. Among them, no one was more sought after than Wang Yibo.
Known for his mesmerizing dance moves, Yibo was a campus legend. It wasn't just his skill that made him stand out-it was the way he danced with such raw intensity and precision that everyone, from first-year students to professors, was left spellbound. Videos of his performances had gone viral within the university, and even students from other schools would sneak into events just to catch a glimpse of him on stage. He moved like he was born to dance, his body fluid and powerful, each motion leaving the audience breathless.
Whenever Yibo crossed the campus, whispers would follow in his wake. Girls would giggle, some bold enough to approach him for selfies or autographs, their eyes filled with admiration. More than once, a hopeful freshman would nervously confess her feelings to him, only to be met with Yibo's polite but firm rejection. What they didn't know was that Yibo's heart already belonged to someone.
Xiao Zhan, too, was a star on campus, though for different reasons. Despite being more known as an artist, his voice was as captivating as his visual creations. He could sing in a way that tugged at emotions, his deep, melodious tones capable of moving people to tears. Though he was modest about his talent, word had spread after a spontaneous performance at a university event, and since then, his name was almost as famous as Yibo's.
Zhan's natural charisma, combined with his striking good looks, made him the subject of admiration just as much as Yibo. With his tall frame, chiseled features, and warm smile, he was the definition of someone you couldn't help but notice. And yet, Zhan, too, had faced his fair share of confessions from admirers, mostly girls who didn't know about the growing relationship between him and Yibo.
As they continued planning the performance over the next few days, it became apparent just how popular they both were. Everywhere they went, girls would find ways to talk to them, drop compliments, or even ask for small favors. During one lunch break, a girl from Yibo's dance class stopped him just as he and Zhan were leaving the cafeteria.
"Yibo, I've been meaning to tell you..." she started, her voice shaky with nerves. "I really like you. Would you... I don't know, want to get coffee with me sometime?"
Yibo blinked, taken aback by the sudden confession. Zhan stood just a few feet away, pretending to check his phone but keeping an eye on the interaction. There was a slight twinge in his chest that he couldn't ignore.
Yibo gave the girl a small, apologetic fake smile. "I'm flattered, but I'm already seeing someone."
The girl looked crushed but nodded before scurrying away. Zhan couldn't help the small, satisfied grin that appeared on his face. He caught Yibo's eye, who gave him an amused look. "Jealous?" Yibo teased as they walked away.
"Not at all," Zhan lied, his tone casual. But the small squeeze of Yibo's hand told a different story.
Later that same week, it was Zhan's turn. During a break between rehearsals for the anniversary performance, one of the vocal students approached him, her eyes wide with admiration.
"Xiao Zhan, I've been wanting to tell you for a while... You have the most beautiful voice, and I really like you." She looked down at her feet before glancing up hopefully. "Would you ever consider going out with me?"
Zhan blinked in surprise, completely caught off guard. From across the rehearsal hall, Yibo looked up from his notes, his eyes narrowing just a fraction. Zhan cleared his throat and smiled kindly at the girl. "Thank you, that's really sweet. But I'm already with someone."
