After Dean hung up with Cas, he started to get ready. It's better to be ready now than run the risk of being late. He takes a last glance at the clock and runs find an outfit to wear. Not gonna wear a suit since it's just the park but I still wanna look decent. Dean laughs at himself for a minute. "God, this is totally a chick flick moment." As he continues looking through his clothes, stressing about what he is going to wear, he wonders how Cas is taking this whole thing.
~~~~~~~~~
After he took his shower, Cas rests for a bit. I still have 1 1/2 hours left. I'm good. So he watches some TV for about an hour and when he looks at the clock again, it read 11:03am. He gets up and walks to his bedroom. He looks though his closet and grabs jeans and a plain black t-shirt. He made sure it was sort of snug on him. I'm wearing this for Dean. Cas smiled at his reflection and made sure he had everything.
Eventually it was time for him to leave to the park. He gets into his '72 Challenger and starts the 10 minute drive.
When he pulls into the parking lot, he looks around to see if he can see the black Impala. Finally he spots the tailend of it at the other end of the lot. He parks into a space about 5 spaces away from Dean. Cas gets out and pretends not to see Dean yet and goes to sit down under one of the pavillions. As he silently waits for a few moments, he hears the distinct sound of one of the Impala's door closing. Then he hears Dean walk up behind him.
"Hey Cas." Cas turned around and sees Dean standing there with a medium sized box.
"Hello Dean. Why do you have that box?" Cas asked with a small smile on his face.
"Well we needed to eat something, don't we?" Dean smiled.
God, that smile will be the death of me. Cas thought.
"I brought sandwiches , chips, beer, and since I know you like healthy things." Dean shudders jokingly, which causes Cas to smile at. "I also brought fruit, water, and vegetables."
"Thanks." Cas laughs. "You know, eating healthy is good for you, Dean."
"Yeah I get trying to stay in shape and everything, but I still don't know how you can eat this rabbit food."
The term 'rabbit food' earns an adorable head tilt from Cas. I should keep saying confusing things just to get that same reaction 'cause that is so adorable. Adorable? Yes, Dean WInchester thinks something is adorable.
"But rabbits don't eat just greens."
Dean can't help but laugh at Cas' confusion. "It's a figure of speech, Cas." Dean smiles.
"Oh right." A faint blush finds its way to Cas' cheeks. If Dean notices, he doesn't say anything.
As Dean pulls out the food from the box, Cas can't help but notice the clothes Dean's wearing. A dark blue t-shirt that has Led Zeppelin on it and he has on a great pair of jeans that fit him perfectly. Granted he didn't see them from the back but he's sure that his ass looks great. I wonder what his ass looks like without the jeans. Wait, Castiel, stop it. Not right now. Cas was arguing with himself until Dean started talking again.
"Okay so here you go." he hands Cas a turkey sandwich, a small bag of chips and a beer. "Do you want some of the vegetables and fruit now or later?"
"No, I'm good." Cas flashed Dean a toothy grin and Dean found himself lost in that smile. He can't help but smile back. Dean sits back down and they start eating in comfortable silence.
After about 10 minutes, they start up a conversation.
"So Dean, what have you been up to?" Cas asks after swallowing a bite of the sandwich.
"Nothing much, really. I don't do much besides work, hang out with you, and doing things around the house."
"Really?" Cas asked with slight shock, "Why?"
"Well, in case you haven't notice, I'm not much of a social person." Dean laughs.
"That is true." Cas smiles, "But I guess I can't say much considering I'm the same way."
"Now that I don't believe." Dean smiles back.
"Well I haven't lived here for very long and I just haven't talked to anyone a lot. Nowhere as much as I talk to you." Cas smirked. I should put my plan in action. I need to know if he likes me back or not.
"Oh." Dean laughs softly. "Well, then I guess I should feel pretty special than."
"Yes, you should."
They fall into more confortable silence until for a few moments before Cas brings up another topic.
"Hey Dean, I have a question."
"What's up?"
"I was just wondering... have you ever thought about a future with someone?" Cas asked
Dean nearly choked on his beer and started coughing.
"Dean, are you okay?" Cas got up and was about to go around the table before Dean put his hand up.
"Yeah, I'm okay." Quick, Dean, think of something. "Just went down the wrong way. But I'm good now,."
After clearing his throat a few times, Dean began talking.
"And to answer your question, yes I have thought about my future but I just don't know who it's gonna be with." Dean eyes started drifting over to Cas but went back towards the swing sets before he's caught.
"Oh. Why not?" Cas asked, "If you don't mind me asking."
"No, I don't mind." Dean takes a small pause, "it's just that I haven't really met that special someone yet."
Cas just nodded and they both didn't say anything. Only until Dean asked Cas a question.
"So have you ever thought about a future with someone?"
"Well I'm not really sure. Kind of like you, I never really met that special someone. Hopefully I will soon." Cas smiled, looking at Dean. I want you to be my special person. Cas thought.
When Dean saw Cas looking at him, he felt the temperature in his face start to rise. Dean turned and literally hoped to God Cas didn't see the blush in his cheeks.
Oh my god. Is he blushing? Maybe he was thinking about someone else... maybe.
"Mmmm... the weather is really nice out today." Dean said as he leaned his head back.
Cas breath caught as he saw the muscles in his throat move with every movement his head made. Cas wanted to just jump the table and start kissing and licking that man's throat. But he fought the urge and stayed seated.
"Y-yeah." Cas said while he was still staring. Thank god that he isn't looking at me yet.
Dean looked at his watch and nearly feel back.
"Holy crap... we've been sitting out here for 3 hours!"
"Really?" Cas looked at his cell phone and laughed quietly. Time flies when you're with the ones you love.
"I should get going. I have to do a few things today." Dean said disappointingly. "But we can hang out again soon!"
"Yeah me too. But yeah, maybe we can hang out next week." Cas said with a smile.
Dean and Cas start cleaning up the food mess they made on the table and start gathering their things. They said their goodbyes and went their seperate ways.
Well that went better than I thought. Dean thought.
Dean went and done some more errands. All the while Cas went back home. Cas opened his door and the first thing he did was go to his bedroom and literally fell facefirst onto his bed and just started smiling.
I want Dean to be my special person.
And from that day on, Castiel thought of everything he and Dean could possibly have in their future.
