Kylan's POV

My back hurt like a bitch as the three of us sat down on the sofas. They confessed they were trying to evesdrop, so they leaned against the door and when I opened it abruptly, they lost balance. They didn't seem apologetic at all.

"So you like my brother?" Jasmine asked.

"Oh, not this again." I mumbled.

"I am on your team, bro." Jessica said.

"But I don't like you." Jasmine gave me a pointed look. "You look like trouble. Elijah is a much nicer guy."

"Wanna bet on who Jay ends up with?" Jess asked.

"Twenty?" Jasmine questioned. Jess showed a thumbs up. "Deal." They fist-bumped.

Seriously?

"No I get that." I said after a while. "Elijah is nice, amicable and polite. He also looks like the nicest, most sincere guy on earth; he has all bases covered."

"And what about you?" Jasmine asked raising her left eyebrow.

"I don't look the part, but I swear I am a nice guy." I said in the most convincing tone I could manage. I don't even know what I was trying to convince them of. "But  it doesn't matter anyway. Jason is dating Autumn, so..."

"What?" They both screamed at the same time. Shit! He didn't tell anyone yet. Ugh! What have I done!

"That cheerleader?" Jess asked with her face scrunched up in disgust.

"They're dating already? She hasn't even met the family yet!" Jasmine exclaimed like it's a grave sin.

"Oh don't worry, guys." Jess said looking optimistically at me and her sister. "High school couples break up all the time." Wow! That is some cynical optimism.

"So, you think you can make my brother happy if you guys ever get into a relationship?" Jasmine asked after podering a little. Why is she back to me again?

"I- uh-" I stuttered still not sure what to say.

"Great! Now all we need is a guy who isn't sure of himself." She said looking frustrated. "Let me guess, you're still in the closet, unsure of your sexuality." She pointed her perfectly manicured finger at me as I slid further back on the sofa. "Listen, my brother is not the subject of your experimentation. And if you think-"

"Whoa. Hold up." I said cutting her off. "I am not in the closet. I don't think I've ever been. Not that I know of. From the day I knew I was into men, other people knew that too. I never once hid that part from others, and most definitely not from myself. I am bisexual, and I'm sure of it. I am into your brother, and I am also sure of that. I'm just not sure, if I have a shot anymore."

[A/N: Ik this is not the same for everyone, coming to terms with your sexuality and telling others about it is sometimes a mentally taxing process. It was just easier for Kylan because he had supportive people around him. But that might not be the case for everyone. To my readers out there, if you're going through a similar process, just know that I am proud of you, regardless of what your circumstances may be.]

I sighed as I ended my monologue. Wow! I've actually said it out loud that I like Jason.

"He's good." Jasmine said, nodding her head. Jessica looked proud. "Confident! I like it. You've convinced me, I am team Kylan now."

Jess rubbed her palms together with a wicked smile on her face. "This is your lucky day, Kylan. With both of our help, Jason will very soon be yours."

"No, I don't like the sound of it." Jasmine said. "Let's just say you will soon be Jason's. Yeah, that sounds about right!"
