After getting the cards from the tomb, Lara and Sora are now going up the mountain to head for the tower. Sora looks up, and he sees how high it is from down here, and up there. He sighs, and follows Lara. They start to climb up. As they do, they hear men talking. They wait.
Man: Hey, you find anything?
Man 2: No! Nothing!
Man: What?
Man 2: Nothing! There's no one up here! They never make it up this far!
Man: Should we head back up to the bunker?!
Man 2: Nah, let's wait out the storm!
Man: Got it!
Man 2: Stay alert!
Man: Let's move inside.
Sora peeks, and looks. He sees three men in ruins. They're taking shelter inside, to wait from the storm. He looks at Lara, and she nods. They both climb up. Sora glares at them.
Sora: Hey!
They turn around, and see him.
Man 3: What the?! Where'd they come from?!
Man: Kill them!
Lara pulls out the pistol, and aims at them. She fires, and shoots one of them in the head. He falls down.
Man 2: She's got a gun!
The two dive behind cover. Sora looks around, and sees a candle hanger. He summons his keyblade, and throws it at it. It hits it, and fire spreads everywhere in the ruin. The two men catch on fire. They both scream in agony as they burn. They both fall down into the water, and go down the waterfall. Sora sighs at this. Lara pats his shoulder. They both know that killing is wrong, but it was either them or those men. Sora finds an ancient scroll. He walks to it, and reads it. Lara stands by him.
Sora: (Reads) I have spoken to some of the villagers on the island. I was expressly forbidden to leave the palace, but this did not stop me. My duties here are clear, I must learn the truth! But the stories I uncovered deft belief. Rumors abound of the Queen's communion with the spiritual world. They say she commands the sun and the rain, that her lands are abundant by her will alone. This is certainly nonsense, but what can be the cause of such whispers? Is this how she controls her people, by engaging their primitive supersitions? I saw absolute reverence in their eyes when they spoke of her, yet I also sensed fear. Her people are treated with fairness, taxed reasonably and are well protected by her Stormguard. No wonder some of them even pray to her! It's as if she were more than just a Queen to them. Spreading discontent through her people may well be a harder task than I imagined.
Lara: It's from an ambassador. The ambassador uncovered a mystery surrounding the Sun Queen. It seems she had some kind of unnatural hold over her people.
Sora: Creepy. I never thought someone like her would do that to her own people.
Lara: I know. The Sun Queen was powerful. We should keep going. And we might find more clues along the way.
They go to the other ruin, and they climb on it. Then, they find a box. They open it, and inside is a Yagen.
Lara: A kind of mortar and pestle. Probably used for preparing medicinal herbs. (Looks at it, and finds something) There are small bone fragments in the mortar well. Hopefully animal bones...
Sora: Me too. I can't imagine these people using human bones for this.
They continue onward. They climb up the mountain to get to the top. They climb up, and make it to an old bridge. They walk on it, but it starts breaking apart. They run for it. And it breaks, making them jump ahead. Sora summons his keyblade, and sticks it to the wall. Lara uses her axe, and sticks it to the wall too. They both pant at this.
