"Erith, wake up," hands shook her gently as a woman's voice woke her. She blinked her eyes to a bright light and quickly closed them again. She squinted, noticed metal in front of her, and looked around. She was lying in the trunk of a car, the lid wide open, letting the sunlight beam on her, and Bonnie stood in front of her.

"What the?"

Bonnie laughed with a large smile, "Welcome back to the land of the living!"

"Why are you so happy? Kai just attacked me!" Erith grumbled.

"Because I got my magic back," Bonnie grinned, "and don't worry about your cousin, Damon has him tied up at the boarding house. I think Damon was almost excited to torture Kai to get your location, we were worried about you."

"Awe, Bonnie, that's so touching!" Erith held a hand to her heart while sitting up to exit the trunk, "Why did Kai have to shove me in such a small car?" she asked, earning another laugh from Bonnie.

"C'mon, we'd better get back before Damon kills Kai," Bonnie advised.

"I can't believe you left those two alone!"

"Well, someone had to come get you and honestly, I was getting sick of listening to Damon threaten him. You know I think Damon was actually worried about you."

"Of course, he was worried, who would praise his pancake making skills other than his bestie Erith? So, you have your magic now, what did Kai do?"

"Damon and I were separated looking for you and Kai attacked Damon at the grocery store. Erith, he was going to kill Damon. He was antagonizing me, and I got so angry and then I just felt it. I looked over at a candle and lit it. It was exhilarating to do magic again it had been so long!" Bonnie explained while they walked back to the Salvatore Boarding House.

"He's crazy to attack a vampire like that, did he say why?"

"Not yet," Bonnie ground out, "He woke up and told us where to find you, but he wouldn't say anything after that. He was being snarky, so Damon snapped his neck. We're hoping he might talk if you're there."

"He's a diva, but you guys should've expected that. I've warned you how he would act when we meet him."

Bonnie cringed, "I guess I just didn't realize how bad he would be. He didn't even care if killing Damon would've been permanent."

The two arrived at the Salvatore Boarding House and Erith followed Bonnie to the living room where Kai's form was sat in a chair in front of the fireplace. Ropes tied her cousin to the wooden chair and blood stained his clothes. Damon hadn't been gentle with his torture. Kai's head was slumped to the side, his sleeping face the only time Erith had ever seen him look innocent.

"Damon?" Bonnie called, looking around for the vampire.

"You found the pupwitch, great!" he held up a glass of bourbon while walking back into the room and continued, "Now maybe the crazy cousin will start cooperating."

He used a poker for the fireplace to shake Kai's sleeping form. His body jerked from the contact, but his eyes remained closed. Damon's eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at Erith and Bonnie, perhaps unsure if he had managed to kill the siphon.

Erith rolled her eyes and spoke, "Kai quit fooling around I know you're awake."

"Awe, you did always know me best Cuz," he peeked an eye open at them. "Sorry for the sleeping spell, but I knew if you were in the way Bon-Bon here wouldn't be scared enough for her magic to make a reappearance. So, are we getting out of here today?"

"Just as soon as you tell me where you hid the ascendant," Damon demanded while glaring with his steel eyes.

"Oh, that's not happening," Kai laughed.
