KABANATA IX

It’s been a week have past since Leo always coming  to my boarding house. He was gotten close to owner of the BH which is aling Mhiema. I don’t know know the reason why that she let him in.

Naglalakad kami ni Shy sa bandang park at naraanan rin namin ang paboritong kong tambayan sa bandang acacia tree, napag-usapan na rin namin ang nalalapit na acquaintance party that will happen next week.

“Emi, hindi ba’t yun yung isa sa mga pambato sa International final game?” turo sa akin ni Shy sa bandang Louis Vuitton. Napansin ko nga sa di kalayuan sa amin sina Leo, at Valle. Magkakilala sila? Nakita kong bumulong si Leonita kay Leo at tumango lamang ito. Napansin ko ring may mga bodyguard rin itong nakabantay sa kanila. 

“Si Valle?” tanong ulit ni Shy

“Yeah, it’s them,”

“Magkakilala sila? Hindi ba’t magkakilala rin kayo nung lalaki na yun?” tumango lamang ako bilang sagot sa kaniya.

“Hayaan mo nalang sila, tara na hanapin nalang muna natin yung ibang materials na kailangan pa nating ikabit sa wall mamaya” paghihila ko kay Shy, ngunit sa biglaang paglingon ko ay biglang tumama ang katawan ko sa isang lalaki na dahilan kung bakit muntikan na akong mapaupo ngunit mabilis ako nitong nahawakan sa braso bago ko pa maramdaman ang katawan ko sa lupa. 

“You okay?” 

“Emi, okay ka lang?” sabay na saad nilang dalawa. Agad akong umangat at nginitian lamang ito.

“Emily?” I look at him confusedly, do I know this guy?

“Emily? Shyna? Nandito pala kayo?”

The guy chuckled softly, and it was only then that I noticed the man standing next to Xander. For a moment, I couldn't place him—was he someone I knew from before?

“C’mon, it’s me, Noah,” he said, and my eyes widened as the realization hit me. He had been my friend back in elementary school.

“Noah? Kamusta ka? It’s been so long,” I stammered, still processing his presence.

“Yeah, I’m doing great. It’s been ages since we last saw each other,” he responded with a nostalgic smile.

“Magkakilala kayo?” Xander cut in, sounding surprised as he glanced between the two of us.

“Yeah, we were classmates back in elementary school,” I explained. It was then that I noticed Shyna, who had gone completely quiet beside me. She was sneaking glances at Xander, her cheeks a little flushed, though Xander seemed oblivious, focused only on Noah.

“I didn’t expect you to know Xander, Noah. What a small world,” I added, smiling. Noah laughed, seemingly entertained by the coincidence.

“He’s actually my neighbor,” Noah replied, but Xander just raised an eyebrow, as if unimpressed by the connection.

“Emily?” A familiar voice called from behind Noah and Xander, making us all turn around. Leonita, along with Valle and Leo, had just stepped out of Louis Vuitton.

“Par nandito pala kayo,” Valle greeted us with a friendly smile as he approached, quickly exchanging hand signals with Xander, their silent communication fluid and effortless.

“Oh babe, you're here too,” Valle said with a teasing smirk, and I saw Shyna roll her eyes.

“Emily, my Lily! I didn’t expect to see you here!” Leonita exclaimed, surprising me with a tight hug. My eyes drifted towards Leo, who stood there, quietly observing us with his intense, crystal-blue eyes. His dark hair contrasted beautifully with Leonita’s blonde, and they were both undeniably striking.
