A bunch of butterflies surrounded a lush green grassy field where a trio of young kids chased the creatures around. The first child was a young version of Duncan who was busy snatching butterflies in his hands and gobbling them up. The second child was a young version of Madeline who was busy teasing Duncan by shaking him side to side with her arms wrapped around him.

???: "Hey don't leave me out of the fun!"

The third child a young version of Doran crashes into Duncan and Madeline causing all three of them to fall to the ground. Madeline giggles loudly, Doran simply chuckles and Duncan on the other hand plops another butterfly into his mouth with a deadpan expression.

Madeline: "Dunky why won't you give me attention?"

Madeline asks Duncan who just stares up at the sky she pokes him with a pout and he just ignores her. Doran however eyes Madeline dreamily and especially focuses his gaze on her curves.

Doran: "Maddy one day I'm gonna marry you!"

Doran declares and Madeline turns to him with a look of disgust.

Madeline: "Ew no I like Duncan not you."

Madeline says bluntly which causes Doran to visibly get sad and he starts crying. But then a loud bark is heard as the three of them turn their attention towards a large wolf approaching them. It foams at the mouth with bloodshot eyes while slowly moving closer to the three of them.

Doran: "We need to go!"

Doran grabs Madeline by the arm and rushes away with her but she screams after Duncan who just stares blankly at the wolf.

Madeline: "No we can't just leave Duncan!"

Doran: "We need to go get an adult!"

Doran rushes away with Madeline and the last thing she sees is the wolf lunging at Duncan.

Madeline: "Duncan!"

She screams as she and Doran disappear into the foliage but Duncan simply slips his arms around the wolf's neck and tightens them. The wolf snarls, barks and growls while thrashing around but Duncan's arms remain firmly tightened around the beasts neck. And then a sickening snapping sound is hard as Duncan lets go of the beast and it hits the ground dead. He just sits down next to it and stares blankly at the creature.

Duncan: "AAAGH!!!"

Duncan screams as he wakes up back in the present particularly on the floor of the shamans shack. He glances around frantically but when he recognizes his surroundings he immediately calms down and turns to see the old lady sitting with her pipe.

Duncan: "Did I win?"

Duncan asks flatly with a deadpan stare and the old woman simply responds by puffing out some smoke.

???: "Yes boy you won."

Duncan breathes a sigh of relief as he stands up and bows his head down to the shaman.

Duncan: "Thank you for helping me I am grateful."

Duncan says in a respectful but reserved tone of voice and the shaman walks up to him and looks him in the eye.

???: "Your not normal boy...there's something about you. Something different compared to the rest of us. Go now leave my shack and don't bother me again."

Duncan doesn't have to be told twice he immediately turns and leaves the shack he walks all the way back to the village where his father is waiting for him at the entrance.

???: "You better have a damn good reason for visiting the shaman boy."

Duncan's father says to him as his son turns to look at him with a monotone expression.
