Chapter 4: Pathetic

"You got this," I whispered as I tried to calm myself.

Right now I'm standing in front of a building that says Bastard Munchen. I can't help but feel nervous. I'm really here to play soccer not for fun but to earn money.

[3rd Pov]

A 2 days earlier.

Erika was sitting in front of her parents in the living room with the man who introduced himself to her before as Ray Dark. Her parents are wondering who the man is sitting beside her. She didn't know where to start with this conversation but one thing she knows is that she'll never back down even if her parents don't allow her.

"My name is Ray Dark" the man introduced to the couple.

"Hello, sir. I'm Eryc Arwyn and this is my wife Mia Arwyn." Eryc introduced.

"May I ask what brought you here in our home?" He asked suspiciously but hid it in his professional tone.

"I'm here to recruit your daughter to play soccer professionally."Ray Dark said without changing his facial expression or his usual emotionless tone.

Eryc and Mia were shocked. They didn't expect that at all. A man came all the way to their house just to recruit their daughter to play soccer, that didn't cross their minds at all. Both of them hesitated, recruiting her meant that she'd leave home, and being a professional athlete was not something they wanted for their only daughter. Mia looked at her husband waiting for him to say something.

"I apologize sir but we must decline your offer," said Eryc.

He has nothing against professional athletes. He even watches the NBA. But that is not the future he wants for his daughter.

Erika just smiled sadly. She already expected their answer but her decision will not change. She'll go with this man to earn money while playing soccer for them, for her family, and for a better future. She will never let go of this opportunity.

"Hmm, I think you should talk to your child first before deciding that," Ray said with a more serious tone and expression.

Eryc and Mia looked at Erika. She is sitting there smiling at them but unlike the smiles she always gives them this one is different.

"I want to play soccer, no I will play soccer," She said to her parents.

She looked at them both straight in the eyes, not blinking to show them she was serious.

"I'm sorry Mom and Dad but even if you say no. I won't change my mind"

"Erika, the decision you're making right now is big. Your future depends on it. You must think about this thoroughly and logically." Eryc said to his daughter.

"Yes, I know. But my decision will still be the same. I will play soccer no matter what and become a professional." She said without breaking eye contact with her Dad.

"Being an athlete is not easy, you should think about this more."

"I've already thought this through, Dad."

Eryc didn't expect that. Out of his 3 children, Erika is the most obedient. She always follows their decisions and never complains to them, even if sometimes it's obvious that she doesn't like their choices. She'll always comply without a word. But right now she's standing with her own choice and not backing down. He can see in the eyes of her daughter that whatever he says won't change her decision.

He just looked at his wife and Mia just smiled at him.

"Ok, We'll allow you. On one condition"
