January 8th, 8:30 pm:
I had attempted to ring Belize several times before finally throwing in the towel. Quite frankly, I was astonished she hadn't blocked me—when she harbours a dislike for someone, oh, it runs deep. What on earth was I supposed to do now? My father would inevitably inundate me with messages, all accusing me of sabotaging his precious business. Not that I held much regard for it myself, but if I wanted to live my own life, I had little choice in the matter. He had struck a deal with me: marry Belize, the heir to Hawthorn & Whitmore, an investment firm he'd long collaborated with, and in return, he'd allow me to chase my dreams of becoming an artist. I could relocate to New York, establish my studio, and finally embark on the life I had always yearned for.
Just then, a knock echoed through the door. At this late hour, I really couldn't be bothered to converse with anyone. Peering through the peephole, I felt a sense of dismay upon discovering it was Raphael. With a resigned sigh, I opened the door, and he sauntered in as though he owned the place. "What's cracking, my tío?" he beamed. "Mate, I am not your uncle!" I shot back, irritation creeping into my voice. "Bruh, it's merely a term of endearment for a mate in Spain!" he chuckled. "Alright, fine," I muttered, feeling more exasperated as I flopped onto my bed.
"So, I presume you've seen the splendid news on InsidePembroke?" Raphael added a mischievous glint in his eye. "Um, no...?" I replied, my tone decidedly flat. "Well then, tío, prepare for a treat" Raphael exclaimed, pulling out his phone. I watched as he opened the site, revealing bold letters that practically screamed for attention.

"And when was this published?" I queried, eyeing Raphael with suspicion. "About fifteen minutes ago, tío," he replied, gritting his teeth in mock annoyance. "I genuinely pity you, mate. How on earth did you end up here?" he asked, plopping down on the bed beside me. We both stared at the wall momentarily, lost in our thoughts.
