Several days had passed since Luther found himself in the unfamiliar world of "Terra," posing as Ollie Wilde. As he explored Ollie’s room, he gradually realized that living as Ollie was not so different from being himself. In his quest for more information about his new identity, Luther discovered Ollie’s diary. However, parts of the diary were missing, with pages having been torn out, leaving Luther to wonder why. Despite this, the remaining entries provided him a glimpse into Ollie's life. Ollie was someone who concealed his emotions, working tirelessly for the sake of his family—traits eerily similar to Luther's own. But unlike Luther, Ollie had close friends and a supportive family. Despite his hard work, Ollie’s efforts seemed in vain, a stark contrast to Luther, who had always obtained whatever he desired. Ollie also harbored true passions and dreams, something Luther lacked. His only ambition had been to secure his place as the heir of the De Vil family. This left Luther feeling hollow, as though his life had been preordained, with a path laid out for him that he was expected to follow without question or deviation.
On a bright, sunny day, Luther—now Ollie—walked towards a field to meet Ollie’s three friends. As he approached the lush, green expanse, he noticed a girl waving at him. She appeared to be around Ollie’s age, perhaps 20 years old, with vibrant green hair and warm brown eyes. Her bright and cheerful personality shone through as she called out to him, "Ollie! Over here! Hurry up, the others are waiting!" As Luther drew nearer, he saw the others standing in the distance. According to the memories that had come with this new identity, the girl was Ollie’s best friend, Rica Wind. Beside Rica stood Dexter Orn, Ollie’s other friend, a quiet boy with dark blue hair, nearly black, who was deeply interested in various arcane and scholarly pursuits. Finally, there was a man who appeared older, moving closer to Luther. His physique was strong and well-proportioned, characteristic of a 25-year-old man in his prime. He had tan skin and light brown hair. His name was Dylan Everi. As Luther, now Ollie, looked at Dylan, the man met his gaze with concern and asked, "Ollie, are you sure you’re alright? You can rest at home if you need to, and we can reschedule this meeting."
The others turned their attention to Luther, their concern evident. Luther understood why—they were worried because this was his first time leaving the house since the accident. On the day he had first awakened in this world, Ms. Wilde had been so worried for his well-being that she forbade him from going outside for two whole weeks. Luther found this restriction beneficial, as it allowed him time to adjust to the new body he inhabited and to observe his surroundings. He also learned that the original Ollie had encountered an accident shortly before Luther assumed his identity. Ollie had fallen into a deep lake near the forbidden woods while collecting herbs with his friends—a tragic event, the full details of which remained unclear to Luther. During those weeks of "recuperation," Ollie’s friends—Rica, Dexter, and Dylan—had frequently visited, eager to see their friend awake and recovering. They had pestered him, rushing back and forth from their homes to Ollie’s, despite the considerable distance. Luther was both amazed and appreciative of their loyalty, something he had never experienced in his previous life. But deep down, he felt a pang of guilt, knowing that the person they truly cared for was gone, replaced by him.
Returning to the present, when Ollie’s friends asked if he was truly alright, Luther responded, imitating Ollie’s mannerisms, "Guys, there’s no need to worry about me anymore. I’m perfectly fine—the healer even confirmed it. That should ease your concerns." Dylan stared at him silently, prompting Dexter to add, "If you feel anything is wrong, let us know immediately. Don’t hide it from us; we’ll take you to Healer Jade right away." Rica chimed in, "Yes, Ollie, Dexter’s right. Please don’t hide anything from us again—we’re your friends. Alright?" Luther nodded, replying, "I will."
The word "again" piqued Luther’s curiosity, hinting at something they knew that he didn’t. Rica then said, "Since Ollie says he’s fine, let’s get to the reason we’re here today." The mood grew serious when Dexter interjected, "Can we sit under that tree first? We’ve been standing for ages, and my legs are about to give out." Everyone laughed and agreed, settling down under the shade of a large, ancient tree.
Once they were seated, Dylan spoke up, his tone unusually solemn. "Now that we’re all settled, let’s discuss our plan for the upcoming entrance exam of the Goldenwing Academy, "The Test of Fate'", in which will be held for the next few months in the central town." As he mentioned the topic, all eyes turned to Luther, their gazes hesitant and uneasy, as if unsure how to proceed.
Luther met their stares with calm eyes, ready to hear what they had to say next.
