MIA'S POV"What's with everyone putting a tag on me?" I exclaimed, my frustration boiling over. "First, it was Malcolm, now you. I'm not a piece of cloth to be owned. I'm a human being, with thoughts and feelings."
Landon's smirk twisted into a sneer. "You're no ordinary human, princess. You're a prize to be won." His eyes flashed with malice. "And I always get what I want."
I remember saying these exact words to Malcolm. It's like history repeating itself except there is a different face though they look alike. How is he related to Malcolm?
"I won't be owned," I spat, defiance burning within me. "You can't just claim me like property."
Landon chuckled, the sound sending shivers down my spine. "Oh, but I can. And I will." His voice dripped with venom. "I'm completely different from my brother. You have no choice but to be mine."
My eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Landon's smile grew, his eyes glinting with hatred. "Before I make you mine, I'll crush Malcolm's will and take everything that belongs to him." His gaze roamed over me, possessive. "And that includes you."
My mind reeled as his words clicked into place. "You're... Malcolm's brother?" I stammered, shock etched on my face.
Landon's expression transformed, feigning surprise. "Oh, I forgot. Let me do the introduction. I'm Landon Vex, my little brother Malcolm's only elder brother." He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, his touch sending shivers down my spine.
I jerked away, my mind racing. The similarities were unmistakable - the chiseled features, the piercing eyes, the dark hair. And their will to dominate... It all made sense now.
"You're... related," I whispered, the truth sinking in.
Landon's smile twisted. "Yes, princess. And that's why you're so valuable to me." His eyes flashed with anger. "Malcolm thinks he's so superior, always getting everything he wants. But not this time."
His voice dropped to a growl. "I'll start with his newly acquired toy...... you." His gaze burned with intensity. "And once I'm done, Malcolm will be left with nothing."
My skin crawled at the hatred in his eyes. "You're doing this out of jealousy?" I spat.
Landon's face darkened. "It's not jealousy, princess. It's justice." His jaw clenched. "Malcolm thinks he's god, but I'll bring him down."
I spat at Landon's feet, raising the pitch of my voice. "I'll never be owned by an asshole like you." My voice dripped with venom. "You're nothing compared to Malcolm. At least he doesn't tie me up all day, or plan on ruining someone else for his own gain or out of jealousy."
As I spoke, a nagging thought crept into my mind. Why was I praising Malcolm? What was wrong with me? I pushed the thought aside.
It's just a tactic to deflate Landon's ego. That's all. I reassured myself.
Landon's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with anger. "Don't ever say Malcolm's name with that pretty little mouth of yours," he growled, his hand grasping my chin.
I met his gaze, my eyes blazing with defiance. "Or what?" I taunted, my voice steady.
Landon's grip tightened. "You don't want to find out," he hissed.
I shifted my thoughts, focusing on the pain in my chin. Don't show fear, Mia.
"You're just jealous of your brother," I continued, my voice laced with contempt. "Malcolm is way better than you. Any woman would choose him over you."
