_MALCOLM'S POV_I sat by the table, my mind reeling from last night's events.
I've been having these disturbing nightmares. At first, I always shrugged it off since nightmares wasn't a new thing for me but it only got more disturbing as time passes by. The images all got clearer except for the face of the woman in the dream.
A woman whom I don't recognise would lay on the bed with bloodstained clothes. I would find blood on my hands and on the walls. The images of blood doesn't terrify me but the fact that I don't recognise the face of the woman is really disturbing and.
I recalled Mia's worried expression when I managed to wake up from the hellish nightmare I was having. She looked concerned, scared even and I still feel bad for yelling at her like that.
I don't know what I'm feeling or what I'm going to do about it but all I know is that Mia is special. Not just special, there is just something different about her....her defiance which only added a spark to her uniqueness. The way her body responded to my touch only making me want her the more.
I just can't take my mind off her and right now, I'm walking down the hallway to see her, my footsteps breaking the usual silence and quietness that echoed in the mansion.
I watch her with an amused smile as she kept digging her fork into the nonexistent food or whatever she thinks she is doing. Her head was drooped down, her long, slender legs fidgeting under the table.
I strode towards her, her back straightening as she noticed my presence. I tucked my hands in my pockets casually watching her shift awkwardly in her seat.
"Mia," I called since she refused to acknowledge my presence. She snapped her head towards me, her cheeks flushed and her ears red. She gave me an awkward smile, standing abruptly from her seat.
"And where do you think you're going? I didn't ask you to leave."
"I'm not going anywhere." She replied, her fingers fiddling with the hem of her shirt. My smirk grew, I brought my face closer to her, my breath grazing her lips. She shifted, her hands resting on the table.
"Mia, you look flushed. What's on your mind?" I asked and her face flushed the more.
"What, me? I'm thinking about nothing....why would I think about last night? What happened has happened, so why would I think about it."
My smirk grew on hearing her words. She's just too obvious.
"What are you talking about? I didn't mention anything about last night...oh I see, you were thinking about last night weren't you?" I teased and her face flushed with embarrassment.
My hands rested on hers on the table, my fingers tracing circles on hers. Her breath hitched as I brought my face closer to hers, my breath caressing her neck that pulsed as she gulped.
My smirk grew as I was enjoying the effect I had on her. My lips now inches away from her met with her jaw in a featherlight kiss.
"Breath Mia." I whispered, my smirk growing wider. She quickly sucked in a breath. I stood straight my eyes hovering over her.
"Change into something nice." I spoke as I scanned her outfit.
"And why should I change my clothes?" She asked a hint of irritation in her voice.
"We're going somewhere." Her brows furrowed as she pondered for a moment. "Where are we going to?" She asked.
"You'll see, just change your clothes."
"Why? This outfit looks good. Why do I have to change into something else?" She spoke in a low tone.
"You'll change because I asked you to and you will do as I say Mia." I replied coldy in a low voice.
"Fine!" She sighed in defeat as she walked past me, avoiding my gaze before heading upstairs.

Few minutes later, Mia sat in the passenger seat, I turned on the ignition and the car sped away into the city, few cars trailing closely behind. I tightened my security so there isn't any breach in the security."Where are we going?" She asked as she tried to make out the route we were taking.
"We're almost there." I replied, my eyes focused on the road. She seemed impatient as she fiddled with the hem of her dress which reached a few inches above her knee. It was really getting hard to keep my eyes on the road.
I felt like having her right there and then but I've got to learn control. I just had to keep my eyes in the road.
Soon we reached our destination and I saw a small smile spread across her lips as she recognised where I had brought her. She was about to alight the car when I pulled her back.
"Don't play any tricks Mia. Just go in there, talk to your mom ot whoever you wish to talk to and come back immediately." I warned in a stern voice, her smile faltering for a second before returning to her lips again.
"I won't do anything stupid. I promise." She assured, excitement evident on her face.
"You have 15 minutes." I said and she replied saying she would be back in 15 minutes.
After about 30 minutes, Mia walked out, returning to the car, her expression a mix of relief and disappointment.
"How did it go?" I asked.
"Mom is fine and Chloe, she isn't home. Mom said she went to the grocery store." She said, her eyes teary.
"Then why are you sad?" I asked facing her as wiped the corner of her eyes.
"I'm fine. It's just..I miss my mom and Chloe, i didnt even get to see her. I also lied to mom. I told her my disappearance was work related and she doesn't seem to believe me. I just hope she doesn't stress over this matter."
My hands cradled hers on her lap
"Mia, you don't need to worry. I keep an eye on them. Your friend.. Chloe, she takes good care of her. Am sure she'll be fine."She nodded in response."thank you. It felt great seeing my mom again." She said, sniffling.
"You don't need to thank me. You deserve it." I replied in a soft tone while stroking her hair. I smiled as she didn't freak out from my touch as she used to nor did she shrug me off. She just sat there like an obedient little doll that she is, allowing me to stroke her hair.
We drove off, the tires screeching on every turn.
"Where are we going?" Mia asked, noticing the route I was taking.
"You'll see." I replied taking another turn.
Soon, we reached our destination. Mia alighted, her gaze wandering around.
"Are we going sailing?" She asked as breathed the fresh air.
"Come," I said taking her hand and leading her down the pier to the luxurious yatch.
"This is beautiful." She muttered, walking across the hatch, the cold breeze swept her hair to the side, a bright smile plastered on her face.
"Why did you bring me here?" She asked the yatch steering in a steady motion.
"This isn't where I was bringing you. It's a few miles away. Well get there soon."
"You could have at least told me to wear something warmer." She pouted, hugging her arms. I pulled her closer, hugging her back. She flinched as I hugged her, her lips parting but she said nothing. She relaxed, her head pressed lightly against my chest.
I placed my jaw on her head, feeling the warmth of her body against mine.
She's my warm haven....mine.
