It had been a few days since Jungkook and Jimin last saw Taehyung in person, but the memory of that night still lingered in their minds. The way Taehyung had sleepily murmured "Night-Night, Daddy" before they handed him over to Ms. Song left a warm, bittersweet ache in their hearts.

Sitting at his desk, Jungkook couldn't focus on his work. He glanced over at Jimin, who was similarly distracted, tapping his pen absentmindedly against the table. Their minds kept drifting back to the little boy who had captured their hearts. Each video call with Taehyung over the past few days had been filled with laughter, but also tears. Taehyung missed them—so much—and made sure to let them know in the sweetest, most heartbreaking way.

Just last night, during their nightly call, Taehyung had pouted into the camera, his big round eyes already teary. "Hyungies no come see Taetae... hyungies forget Taetae?" His voice cracked with a mix of sadness and accusation, his lips quivering as he clutched his little teddy bear.

Jungkook and Jimin exchanged guilty glances, their hearts breaking at the sight of him. "No, baby, we didn't forget you," Jimin had said softly, trying to soothe him. "We've just been so busy with work, but we miss you so much."

"Yeah, Taetae," Jungkook chimed in, his voice gentle. "We think about you all the time. We promise we'll come see you soon, okay?"

Taehyung sniffled, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. "But... Taetae miss hyungies now!" he whined, his voice tiny and pleading. "Hyungies no wuv Taetae anymore?" His little face crumpled, tears spilling from his eyes, making Jungkook and Jimin feel like the worst people in the world.

Jimin's heart clenched as he leaned closer to the screen. "No, no, baby! We love you so much. We'll come as soon as we can, we promise."

Taehyung pouted, his big eyes shining with tears as he hugged his teddy tighter. "Otay... but Taetae so sad..." he mumbled, his voice trailing off into a little sob.

"Don't be sad, sweetheart," Jungkook cooed, his voice filled with affection. "Why don't you tell us what you did today? Did you play with your friends?"

Taehyung sniffled again, his pout softening just a little. "Taetae pwayed, but no fun wifout hyungies," he said, his voice still wobbly but calmer. "No fun when hyungies no here."

Jungkook and Jimin shared a look, their hearts aching. They wished they could just drop everything and rush to the orphanage, scoop Taehyung into their arms, and never let go. But work had been demanding lately, and as much as they hated it, they had responsibilities to fulfill.

"We'll make it up to you, baby. We'll plan something really fun for the weekend, okay? Maybe we can go to the park!" Jimin suggested, trying to lift Taehyung's spirits.

Taehyung's face brightened slightly at the mention of park, though his bottom lip still trembled. "Otay... but Taetae want you now!" he said, his voice taking on that adorable, demanding tone that made both Jungkook and Jimin smile despite the situation.

"Soon, baby. Just a few more days, okay? Be a good boy until then," Jungkook said softly, his heart full of love for the little boy on the other side of the screen.

Taehyung nodded, his eyes still watery but with a tiny hint of a smile starting to form. "Taetae be good boy... but hyungies come soon, pwomise?"

"We promise," Jimin said earnestly, feeling the weight of that promise settle in his chest.

Back to present:

Jungkook sighed heavily, resting his chin in his hand as he stared blankly at the computer screen in front of him. His mind was far from the work he was supposed to be doing. Instead, it was filled with thoughts of Taehyung—his soft, sweet voice, the way he pouted when he didn't get his way, and those big, round eyes that always sparkled when he saw them.
