Jungkook and Jimin could barely contain their excitement as they prepared to take Taehyung home for the first time. After their conversation with Ahjumma, they had gone to gather Taehyung's few belongings—some clothes, his favorite stuffed toys, and a blanket he never went to sleep without. The little boy was buzzing with excitement, not quite understanding the full weight of what was happening, but clearly overjoyed that he'd be spending more time with his "Daddy" and "Dadda." But there was a noticeable shift in the air as it was time to say goodbye to Ahjumma.
Taehyung stood by the front door, clutching his little stuffed bear tightly, his lips wobbling as he stared up at Ahjumma, who had always been a comforting presence in his life. His earlier excitement seemed to melt away as reality set in—he was leaving the only home he'd known so far. His big, brown eyes filled with tears, and he looked at her with a heartbreaking expression.
"Ahjumma... Taetae go bye-bye?" he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Ahjumma knelt down to his level, her own eyes misty as she opened her arms to the little boy. Taehyung rushed into them, wrapping his tiny arms around her neck, and began to sob. "Ahjumma come, pwease," he cried, his voice muffled against her shoulder. "Taetae no wanna weave Ahjumma..."
Jungkook and Jimin stood back, their hearts breaking at the sight. They hated seeing Taehyung so upset, but they also knew this was a big moment for him. They exchanged a glance before kneeling beside him, gently placing their hands on his back.
"Baby," Jimin said softly, his voice calm and soothing. "We know it's hard to leave Ahjumma. But we'll come visit her often, and she'll come visit you, too. You're going to have so much fun at our house, I promise."
Jungkook nodded, his own voice gentle but filled with determination. "We'll make sure you see Ahjumma as much as you want, Tae. And she'll always be a part of our family."
Ahjumma pulled back slightly, holding Taehyung's face in her hands as she wiped away his tears with her thumbs. "You'll be just fine, sweet boy," she said softly, smiling through her own tears. "You have your daddies now, and they'll take such good care of you. And like they said, I'll come visit whenever you want, okay? You'll see me again."
Taehyung sniffled, nodding slowly as he wiped his face with his sleeve. "Pwomise?" he asked, his voice still shaky.
"We promise," Jungkook and Jimin said in unison, both of them leaning in to kiss the top of his head.
After a few more hugs and reassuring words, Taehyung finally let go of Ahjumma, his tears drying as his excitement began to bubble up again. He grabbed both Jimin and Jungkook's hands, holding them tightly as they made their way to the car.
"Taetae go home wif Daddy and Dadda!" he sang, his little voice full of glee.
Jungkook smiled down at him, his heart swelling with love. He squeezed Taehyung's hand gently. "That's right, Taetae. You're coming home with us."
Jimin, on the other side, bent down to be eye-level with Taehyung for a moment, his eyes soft and full of warmth. "Are you excited to see your new room, baby?" he asked gently.
Taehyung nodded eagerly, bouncing on his little feet. "Yes! Taetae want woom! Taetae wive wif Daddy and Dadda foreva!"
Jungkook and Jimin exchanged a quick, emotional glance at his words. "Forever" was exactly what they wanted too, even if things weren't official yet. As far as they were concerned, Taehyung was theirs, and they were his family.
Once they reached their car, Jungkook helped Taehyung into the backseat, making sure he was safely strapped into his car seat. Taehyung giggled the whole time, his excitement bubbling over. "Taetae wide in Daddy's caw!" he exclaimed, his small hands grabbing onto the sides of the car seat.
