Electra Voltos and her boss, Salvador Stone sat in a meeting. The leader of the Dark type branch of The Haven Foundation, Samuel, sat in it as well. "So you want me to initiate a takeover of the Devon Corporation? By force? That seems pretty underhanded Mr. Stone. Aren't they your family?" Salvador sighed. "They are and it isn't. I don't run that corporation specifically because I declined to. I don't want you to show up in force and occupy the facility like some group of Team Rocket goon squad either. You're to initiate a corporate buyout. I've been secretly amassing shares of the company under false identities for years now, and I own 51% of the shares between that and the ones in my name. I'm going to transfer ownership of those shares to the Haven Foundation, and you as the representative of Haven will go and takeover. By being majority shareholder, we can make the rest of Devon an offer they can't refuse. At the very least, they'll have no choice but to allow me my autonomy and continue to fund the Foundation as well. I'd go myself but frankly I need a day or two of vacation, wherein I can make progress toward my goals unopposed. So I'm leaving this to you." It was a lot to take in, but Samuel got the gist. He nodded and replied. "Yes sir Mr. Stone. I'll get it done. Hopefully no one at Devon's feathers get too ruffled." Salvador smirked. "Oh I'm sure they will. In fact I fully expect a phone call from my uncle regarding this all that will hopefully allow me to quash all this and be done with it." Samuel nodded again. "Alright. I'm on the job." He said as he stood and exited the conference room. Electra breathed a sigh of relief. "That took far longer than anticipated." She said coldly. "Come now Ms. Voltos, these things do take time. He seemed rather gung ho on the idea when it became clear what I wanted him to actually do. We'll count it as a win." Salvador replied, standing and loosening his tie. "With that all settled, I assume you've booked our flight to Alola?" She nodded yes in response. "We leave in the morning sir." She added on, knowing he'd ask. "Very good. Go and finish packing and do try to rest. Nothing makes vacation more enjoyable than going into it well rested after all." She nodded again. "Yes sir." She made to leave but stopped. "Sir, about the Electric Type Branch. Am I leaving Crimson in charge?" Salvador nodded. "Oh yes. I suppose we should have a meeting with that kid regarding it shouldn't we. Call him in. We'll be brief." She nodded and did so. A few moments passed and he was in the conference room. "Yo!" Crimson said with a wave as he sat down in one of the empty chairs. "So what's this meeting about? Other than having a more public than intended battle with one of the other LTs I haven't really done much since I got here." Salvador crossed his hands and leaned forward on the table. An ominous air filled the room. Electra adjusted her glasses. "I'll get right to the point then." Salvador responded. "I'm going on vacation. Ms. Voltos will be accompanying me. As her boss I feel she needs the time off as well. That means that as her lieutenant, you'll be in charge while we're gone. At least of your branch of the foundation. So you'll need to actually acquaint yourself with them and manage them. Ms. Voltos will provide you with more details now." Electra moved and handed Crimson a tablet, on which were several reports from the members of the branch and the projects they were working on. "The electric branch, as I've previously informed you, is the R&D branch of the foundation. Most of our branch members are fairly diligent workers, so you'll only need to check their progress periodically until we return. They tend to get lost in their work and forget to report in. But beyond that it shouldn't be too much trouble." She returned to her place by Salvador. Crimson flipped through a couple screens on the tablet. "This all seems pretty cutting edge. I'm not sure I understand what it is they're working on. Are you sure I should be doing this?" Electra nodded. "As my lieutenant, you're required to. This is a test. Your battling and training skills are top notch. So, let's see if your management skills are up to snuff." Crimson sighed and nodded. "I'll get it done. Maybe I can even convince them to make me something cool as a side project." Salvador chuckled. "That's the spirit. Oh, one last thing. Under no circumstances are you to battle anyone. Especially not Solomon from the Grass Branch. He likely was using his lieutenant's personality to bait you into that earlier match you had so he could gauge your abilities. He's a ridiculously powerful trainer, and as a result most battles leave him unsatisfied. You've defeated three separate Pokémon Leagues. You're likely one of a handful of trainers who can match him. Everyone in this room currently knows what you're capable of. Solomon does not. I don't want the whole foundation's structure getting rocked while I'm gone. So no battles." Crimson saluted, "yes sir!" He said standing and turned to leave. "They're gone on their last mission anyways, so I don't foresee that being to large of an issue. But I'll be a good kid and follow the rules." He waved as he exited the room.

Salvador stood and stretched a bit. "Seems like all the Duckletts are in a row now. I suppose we should retire home to pack. I'll see you in the morning Ms. Voltos. Have a good evening." Electra nodded and returned to her own quarters to begin her preparation. She put far too much thought into what to pack and ended up with three separate bags full, at least one outfit for every conceivable occasion she could think of. She went to sleep eager for the vacation, not with excitement, but to get it over with so she could return to her duties at the foundation. It truly had become her life, and she was determined to live it to the fullest.
