Chapter 4

Addison was at school the next day. During her free period, she decided to go to her dad's office. She knocked on the open door.

"Hey." George said. "What's up?"

"Can I hang out here during my free period?" Addison asked.

"Sure." George answered. "Everything alright?"

Addison didn't say anything.

"Addison?" George asked. "What's wrong? Are you feeling alright?"

"I'm fine." Addison answered. "It's not that."

"Then, what is it?" George asked.

Just then, they overheard other kids talking about her.

"That family is just weird. There's a kindergartener here. And the girl is playing golf."

"I'm sorry, sweetheart." George said.

"Maybe I should quit golf." Addison said. "Sheldon's getting teased enough that I don't need to add fuel to the fire."

"Just ignore them." George said. "You were looking forward to playing."

"It's not that easy, Dad." Addison said. "Kids can be mean."

"Just think about it before doing anything." George said.

Addison nodded. "I gotta go." She said. "I'll see you later."

Later that day, Addison was at her locker.

"Don't quit golf." She heard.

Addison turned to see Micah. "Excuse me?" She said.

"I'm sorry." Micah said. "I'm Micah. We go to the same church."

"I know." Addison said as they started walking. "So, were you eavesdropping on me and my Dad?"

"No. I would never eavesdrop." Micah said, nervously. "The door was open and I overheard as I was walking by."

"Relax, Micah." Addison said, chuckling. "I'm only teasing you."

"For the record, I've never teased your brother." Micah said.

"That's kind of you." Addison said. "He's just trying to get a good education."

"I get that." Micah said. "And I think it's cool you joined the golf team. Just ignore everyone."

"Thanks." Addison said.

"Do you want to have lunch together sometime?" Micah asked.

"Sure." Addison replied. "As long you don't mind sitting with Julie and Sheldon."

"Not at all." Micah said.

Addison smiled.

"I'll see you tomorrow at school." She said.

"See you, then." Micah said.

Addison headed to golf practice.
