Just Friends

Chapter 3

Ash sits across from Josh, Josh is eyeing him intently.

"No!" Josh shouts in a form tone. Ash winced at his tone of voice, squeezing his shut in the process.

"B-but....how am I supposed to talk to her then?" Ash said in a low tone, barely a whisper.

He frowns down at the floor. A few seconds later he hears a long sigh from Josh.

Josh takes a hand and runs it through his curly hair.

Nibbling on his bottom lip, he shoots ash a hesitant look.

"F-fine....i-i help you", he stammers. Ash jumps from his seat and wraps his arms around Josh, squeezing him tightly.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" Ash exclaims in joy. "I really don't what I would do without you", he added softly.

For some reason.....Josh was happy for his best friend but felt slight pain in the pit of his stomach.

He felt strange that entire day.....but he wanted to help his "friend" out.

Krysie's POV

I walk into our homeroom classroom. Taking a seat next to my friend, my eyes scanned the room.

Ash...... isn't here yet. Not really shocker but I was hoping he would come early.

I was planning to ask him who his date was gonna be, since almost ever year the school throws a party to celebrate the news students at our school, AKA- The grade 10s.

It's almost like a homecoming dance but not quite.

"Okay class! Give me the floor please I'm taking registration now so speak in your inside voices please" Ms. Coli shouts from across the room.

She starts to take the registration, when the classroom door flies open, and in steps ash.

I gasp lightly.

He walks inside, making his way towards Ms. Coli's desk.

He says something to her but I couldn't quite catch what he said.

He heads to his seat, passing me. We lock eyes for a second before he turns his head.

Taking his seat next to his best friend Josh AKA- The nerd, he takes out his workbook from his back pack.

The bells rings a few minutes later and the students starts packing up their things to head out.

Ash and Josh were on their way out when ash felt someone tap his shoulder.

He turns around to see krysie. The most hottest, most popular, and the leader of the cheerleadering team.

Ash was the definition of speechless.

"Heyyyyy," krysie said, waving her hand.

"Uhhh h-hi" ash replied, absolutely speechless.

"So uhmmmm I was wondering if I could ask you a quick question?" She takes a lock of hair, placing it behind her ear.

"Uh sure," he looks back at Josh with a little smile.

"Do you have a date to the dance coming up in a few days?", she asks.

"Nope"

"Really?" Krysie asks in a shocked tone.

"Why do you seem so surprised?" Ash chuckled.

"Huh? Oh no I was just under the impression that you already had a date", she explained.

"Ohhhhh no no nope I don't"

"K" she stares up at ash.
