the second phase has began, you sprinted alongside with the other participants, it was a bit difficult to follow satotz but still bearable.
You found yourself running behind the couple, the shirtless man and the blonde woman.
"if we can't keep up, we'll soon lose the direction"
You heard the blonde female say, you assumes that they weren't aware of your presence from behind, which you completely didn't mind and preferred it that way.
"it's okay, we just need to follow ones in front of us."
The shirtless man calmly assured.
'aw, how cute. look at him calming down his girlfriend.'
You thought, finding it quite endearing, though a hint of cringe crept in.
Suddenly- the silhouette that was running ahead of you three vanished in an instant, earning a confused sound from the man.
"what just happened?!"
The shirtless man spoke in disbelief, as he and his girlfriend stopped on their track, causing you to stop as well.
'am I hallucinating or there are two strawberries in front of us right now..'
You thought, staring at the giant strawberries that was floating around as it surrounded around you and the other participants.
A candidate took a step and he unfortunately.. fell to one of the creature's trap.
A huge rare species with strawberries sticking out of its shell as it picked the man with its teeth, you were unable to keep your fascination hidden, after all. It was rare to see these type of animal in real life occasions, you can only see them in games and all.
The participants immediately started running away, you froze in your spot. Can't help but to admire the view before you..
Too stunned you immediately came back to your sense, realizing that.. the shirtless man somehow got between in the huge creature teeth, desperately holding into a branch as he was gripping his hands around it for dear life.
"leorio!"
His girlfriend shouted, with a powerful jump, she soared to the creature's head and drove her strike directly to its left eye.
The creature got aggressive and it was your cue to help, you immediately sprinted towards the shirtless man and managed to save him and his ass from falling to the ground.
The shirtless man stared at you, his eyes widened and was visibly stunned in surprise.
The blonde female also landed safely to the ground, as her eyes glanced at your figure.
'oh, is she jealous that I'm carrying her boyfriend?'
You thought, tilting your head as you looked at the female's eyes.
"let's get out of here!"
The blonde female replied, you nodded as you and the woman sprinted out of the scene with the shirtless man f̶l̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ while he was in your arms.
