The cold has reached its peak, and the sun's warmth was providing no comfort. Yet, the usual hustle and bustle outside the building, along with the voices of passing people seemed to make the chill irrelevant. Umer, who had been oblivious to the surrounding noises, suddenly stopped in his tracks. For the first time, his gaze fixed on someone and he couldn't hide his faint smile. For a few moments, the sounds, the people, and the scene around him faded. The only image in his mind was of Sumbul, a sight that took him somewhere else. He had never seen a girl more beautiful than her. He confessed.
She was talking with someone, the straight hair strands on her shoulders, and the way she would move her hands while explaining, a hint of confusion on her face. He was lost in this scene, he was not seeing her for the first time, but every time his gaze lands on her, he would stop and would lost in her.
Working with her, some light chatter and the promises to make her lose was something else. In his life, he had worked and studied with many girls but no one ever hold his attention like she did. And this was something even Umer didn't knew, she was normal, a good lawyer. Beautiful too but not as much as she appeared in Umer's eyes. His first meeting with Sumbul was quite common; at that time she was just a competitor he wanted to outshine. Then they had a good conversation and after that...
Umer didn't knew how Sumbul viewed him. The truth was, he didn't even understand his own feelings, she was just a friend, a colleague this was something he told himself and others. Umer didn't knew what he liked in Sumbul, her beauty? Her success, the way she talked or everything? She was the only girl who made Umer Yazdaan confused and she was also the first girl who used to stay in Umer's mind all day.
Umer was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts by someone's voice. He looked up in surprise at Fahad approaching him, then shook off his thoughts and moved forward but could he leave everything behind? Certainly not. This Umer knew and he acknowledged it. He still had a lot to achieve and of all the things he had, there was something he would never make a part of his life. He wasn't habitual of discarding unwanted things. However, there was a duration he had set in his mind and after that period, that thing cannot remain in his life. No matter how good it was.

" why are you looking so worried?" Erum just entered the room when her gaze fell on Yumna, who was sitting on the bed, holding her phone in her hand." why are starring at me like this? What happened?"she inquired again, this time her voice laced with annoyance. She sat down on the couch.
Yuman ignored her this time. " this man is making me lose my mind." She replied in a voice full of irritation and showed the screen of her phone to Erum.
Erum glanced at the phone, it showed an incoming call. She glanced away and leaned on the couch, switching on the tv. " who is he?" She asked.
" all of this is happening because of that stupid girl."
" Noor? Why?" Erum looked at Yumna this time, she was now more interested." yeah Noor. What did I know before coming here that Umer will marry her. I had found a proposal for her and send her pictures, I had no idea that, that old man will become so interested in her. Now he is saying that he will give double amount, just marry her to him. Now what can I do? And here he is calling me again and again."
" there's a limit to everything mom, why did you have to get involve in all this because of some small amount of money." Erum rolled her eyes.
" I wasn't after money. I thought that once she marries off, we can also live in peace. And he was giving money anyway, so why would I refuse?" She was now explaining her, while Erum listened to her mother with visible boredom on her face.
