Aaminah POV

The two men I bumped into kept passing through my mind as I walked around the store. Well, technically, it was the first man's voice since I didn't get a look at him before he rushed off. The interaction with both has left me feeling warm and confused.

"Stop thinking about them, Aaminah. Focus on the task so you can get home to do your homework."
I mutter to myself.

I walked quickly around the store to get everything Nina had sent me and the things I needed. As I head toward the register, I feel my phone vibrate in my purse. I pull my cart over and stop. I reach into my bag to grab my phone. I winced as I read the name on my phone

'Dad'

I forgot to call him when I got home. I quickly answered the phone, ready to be met with sarcasm.

"Hey Daddy, wassup?"

"Hey, baby. Have you made it to Mystic Falls yet?"
He asks teasingly, making me groan.

"I'm sorry! I forgot to call when I made it. But yes, Dad, I made it."
I answer, sighing mentally as I wasn't met with sarcasm.

I situate myself again so I can continue to the register.

"Good. I'm staying at the Gilbert's. I have been here for a while. Come see me any time."
He said.

"Okay, I can come get you after I get Nina's things."
I tell him.

"How are your fingers?"
I ask.

"How did you know?"
He asks.

"Did you forget that I am your emergency contact? On my way there, I got a call that you ran away."
I inform him. I smile briefly at the cashier as I unload my cart.

"I also have two 24 cases of water."
I tell the cashier.

"Well, that was because I was threatened with my life."
He says.

"What do you mean by that?"
I ask.

"The youngest Salvatore brother fed me his blood, threatening to kill me and become the thing I hate most. So, I left town for 24 hours and came back."

"So that also means your fingers are fully healed."
I said.

"Yhup! Good as new. They are working perfectly fine for my fingers to be chopped off and put back."
He chuckles.

"Who did it?"
I growl.

"It's all good, little bean."
He coos.

"You are so lucky I'm in this store right now. When I get you, you will tell me who did it."
I swore.
