The next morning Tamara lay curled up in Lucy's embrace a few days passed it had been a whole week since they had last seen Tim
Ta-mum did dad leave because I have cancer
L-I don't think he's left he's probably just sick still okay
Ta-okay they keep chatting when they hear the door open
Ta-dad? Tamara asks hoping it's him but Angela enters
A-sorry kiddo just me I'm sure he's just sick okay
Tamara nodded sad
Tim cane back later that evening he tried to be normal for Tamara they had fun chatting and then the doctor entered holding Tamara's results his eyes full of sympathy as he glanced at the three
D-I umm have some very bad news
L-what is it tell us
D-Tamara's chemo we was waiting for has came in now but I'm afraid it's too late she's terminal I'm sorry
L-is there a chance
D-what
L-is there a chance that the chemo can help still
D-since she's only been terminal for a few days yes it can but it's a very slim chance
L-can we do it then
D-yes if that's what she wants
Ta-yes it is I don't want to die
D-okay give me a few minutes
a few minutes later the doctor gloves Tamara the chemo and she falls asleep quickly the doctor left the room
L-look Tim I know what you said okay but please don't leave us I need you she needs you now Tim she's terminal do you really want her last few months to be her trying to figure out where her dad is
T-no I don't but it's best for the both of us if I go
L-you mean it's better for you
T-well she's terminal if this doesn't clear up in a week then I'm leaving I'll say goodbye then I'm packing my stuff and moving to somewhere new where my life can start again
Lucy waited for Tamara to be disconnected a few hours later Tamara woke up after being disconnected a week later they was told it hadn't stopped the cancer she was still terminal with a maximum of six months left to live Tim packed his bags and put them in his car he entered Tamara's room
T-I'm leaving now you won't see me again I hope life is good for you both goodbye
Ta-WAIT DAD PLEASE DON'T LEAVE
Tamara shouted sobbing as Lucy pulled her into a hug Angela entered the room
A-hey hey whats wrong with tam
L-Tim just came in said he was leaving and left with absolutely no remorse for us or tam
A-what I swear to god I'm going to get him I'll be back Angela left speeding to the airport she saw Tim sitting in the waiting area
Angela stormed towards him luckily the area was empty
A-Tim wtf are you doing Tamara has six months to live at least let her have peace whilst she's dying how would you feel if you told your younger self that you when you became a dad even tho not by blood you abandoned your kid when they was dying younger you would hate that thought you always promised you'd be better then your father but if you run away just like him leaving your daughter in a hospital bed sobbing to her mum because you just up and left seriously you think you'd atleast stay just until she's passed to look after Lucy because honestly if to want to go but if you go you will never be welcome here again Tim not to me not to Lucy not to the station after they find out what you did
T-well good job I have a new life ahead good bye I have a plane to catch Tim left
A few weeks passed and Tamara had been doing the higher dosage chemo after a few months the chemo had fully gone Tamara was cancer free this time lucy was going to keep it that way Tamara's hair had grown back in to it's old length it was now very curly tho Lucy posted a photo of her and tam saying Tamara was cancer free Tim saw it staring at the phot he assumed it was a post to say she'd past but as he scanned the photo he saw a sign Tamara held in her hands reading finally cancer free
He was shocked his new life hadn't worked at all he flew back turning up at Lucy's door Tamara answered the door
Ta-Tim why are you here
T-I wanted to see you and make it up to you
L-who is it Lucy said as she saw Tim's face
T-Lucy you look nice
L-no you need to go your not welcome here you can't leave me and tam wanting her to die wandering where you are then come back to be with us you need to go right now
T-I'm sure tam wants me to stay
Ta-don't call me that your not my dad anymore and I don't want you to stay because a real dad wouldn't abandon me I just want mum no one else you can go Tim Tamara said shutting the door running to Lucy as Lucy took Tamara to the couch Tamara started to cry
Ta-I don't want this version of Tim I want old Tim back mum can I just speak to him once please before he goes again I just want to see if he's changed or not
L-okay but if anything happens call me Tamara ran out the house finding Tim in a park crying on a bench
Tamara sat next to Tim
Ta-I'm sorry for yelling at you Tim
Tim wiped his tears
T-what you doing kiddo I thought you didn't want to see me
Ta-I just wanted to see if you had maybe changed since you left
T-I have I promise tam
Ta-can we talk
T-sure they chat for a few hours before playing in the park then Tim dropped Tamara home
Tamara entered the house
Lucy saw Tamara smiling happily knowing she had fun with Tim before he was about to leave Lucy asked him
L-hey Tim would want to stay for dinner
T-if thats okay with you
L-of course it is come in they say at the table eating this is what Tamara needed desperately a sense of normal for once a feeling that the dad she thought was gone was still there
Ta-mum can I show dad my room Tamara asked her eyes glistening with anticipation
L-okay go on just this once Tamara quickly led Tim to her room it looked amazing and cute
Ta-I painted the walls myself mum helped with the building part
T-it looks great kiddo
Tim said his goodbyes about to leave but Lucy insisted him stay in the guest room as the month passed everything had went back to normal the Bradford family was back together happy again especially Tamara the LAPD was happy to have Tim back even Angela but Angela warned Tim not to do anything that stupid again Tim and Lucy arrived home to see Tamara waiting impatiently at the door as soon as it opened she flung into Lucy's and Tims arms they sat on the sofa watching a film eating popcorn when Tim suggested he take Tamara to get ice cream and get Lucy a surprise making her wait at home however as they were on the road a car was swerving vigorously on the road it crashed into them making them spin and flip upside down they were both unconscious a few minutes later police and ambulance came Tamara was removed from the car but she refused to go yet wanting to make sure Tim was safe
Ta-is my dad okay
D-we don't know yet we haven't got him yet we need you to go first okay
Tamara was restrained on the gurney her necks had a bracket on just incase it was broke she was put in a hospital room all cut and bruised up when Lucy burst in the room crying she carefully cradled Tamara in her arms
Ta-mum is dad okay they haven't told me anything
Lucy sobbed harder as the words escaped her mouth
L-tam I'm sorry they called me he was pronounced dead at the scene you must have passed out before you his arm was badly damaged he put his arm infront of you to protect you from the airbag if he hadn't if stopped it you wouldn't died too I'm so glad your okay
Ta-dads dead but he was changing we were a family he can't be dead life was being good why would he due
L-I know I'm so sorry tam
Tamara sobbed into Lucy's chest as she thought of Tim as the days passed Tamara was sad as she thought of how she had lost Tim before but it was different then she could see him but now she couldn't he was gone forever his memory lingering in there minds as they attended his funeral it was an open casket per Tamara's request she wanted to see him one last time they all got there goodbyes then Tamara took Tim's hand it was cold a stark reminder he was truly gone his face pale he was dressed in his favourite metro hoodie and a pair of jeans Tamara had got him for fathers days as well as his shoes and socks his hair was gelled back like he had done it countless times Tamara said goodbye tears streaming down her face as she said goodbye to Tim she ran to Lucy hugging her tightly crying into her chest Lucy cradled Tamara softly letting her know she was there everyone staring at her she shook her head at everyone that looked at her they turned away but she didn't get mad at Angela or the people she knew as she knew they were looking at them sympathetically Tamara whispered in Lucy's ear
Ta-mum please promise me you'll never leave me
Lucy promised her but that was a promise she couldn't make...
