“Have you ever wished that everything is just a dream?”
—"Sohee, stop crying please." Dakyung, Sohee's personal assistant, frowns and continuously dabs a napkin under the actress's eyes to wipe the threatening tears that were about to fall and ruin the makeup, which took more than two hours to be done perfectly. "Nahyun will scold us both, if she sees your puffy eyes."
"Can I back out?" Sohee asked with a shaky voice, hands desperately gripping the satin of her white gown, creating creases.
Dakyung gulped and sighed, looking out of the car's window, where reporters surrounds the church with their cameras capturing photos here and there. Numerous security guards were standing firmly outside, monitoring the event and telling people to back off as the wedding shall take place in a few minutes.
There were many people who wanted to witness the event, curious of how one of the most promising actress in the country and a K-Pop idol who has a dirty reputation, tie knots and seal their love.
The announcement alone made everyone go crazy, various reactions expressed online. Some were happy, mostly surprised and many were not amused with it.
Sohee received many private messages from Hyunjae's fans, saying they don't deserve to be married and that the idol was doing good and doesn't need to be in a relationship. She ignored the comments and convinced herself that they would soon die down. But they didn't.
She just had to get used to people sending her threats and commenting bad things about her. The hate comments weren't new to her, it just feels odd when there's a boy involved.
"It's just six months and then you'll get divorced." Dakyung smiled weakly, as she placed her hands down after making sure there's no more tears on Sohee's eyes.
The actress looked down at her lap and played with her fingers. Six months is a long time, how will I live my life in those six long months?
"This is too much to process in my head." she lightly chuckled, letting a pathetic tear slide down past her cheek. "Dakyung, please help me."
Dakyung could only sigh and rub Sohee's back in a soothing manner as she placed the napkin under Sohee's eyes to catch any more tears. Dakyung couldn't do anything too, she's just a girl that was hired to look out for her client and is in no position to voice out her concerns.
As the time unfortunately came, a staff knocked on the window, gesturing for the bride to come out. As much as Sohee wishes to refuse, she knew she has nowhere to go.
When Sohee got out, a few staffs helped her walk up the steps of the huge and grand church. Her guards walked by her side to avoid anyone getting close to her, strictly pushing away the persistent reporters who tried to cross the line.
The tail of her white gown was flawlessly draped over the steps behind her, creating a fairytale-like image for the people to see. She held a bouquet of flowers, perfectly arranged to signify the relevance of the event.
However, everything looks horrible to Sohee's eyes — it was disgusting. She hated every single thing she was seeing at the moment. She just wanted to close her eyes and block away everything.
The cameras where shuttering nonstop as everyone wanted to get a good shot of the bride, amazed by how beautiful she looked. Reporters couldn't help but be in awe, as they watched Sohee stand outside the church with a gentle smile on her face.
"Breathe, okay? You can do this." Dakyung said, patting her back. "I'll be Nahyun."
Sohee wished she could take Dakyung's words to comfort her, but there's nothing that could even make her feel better. Everything feels like a nightmare.
