Chapter 5: We are thy demons, we are thy pawns, demon king thou bear thy scythe

Frisk pushed the ruined doors open, the bone-shivering cold did not phase them. Not much did anymore, after they fell they found that everything was possible and real. Even a child as young as themself, weak as themself, was able to k*ll a creature that never should have existed. It made a fire burn in their gut, it twisted and cracked begging to be fed the sweet blood and dust of the dead. It made Frisk want to laugh, their sweet, child innocence was gone. All that was left was an exorcist that wouldn't rest until its job was complete. Completing that job will let them leave the underground and go back to the surface as a hero. Athan will be able to step down from her job as a priest and let Frisk take charge. They will lead the church to a new horizon, a new path underneath God as the Holy. Yes, it's perfect, absolutely perfect, it was like they were going insane!

    The low buzzing in their ears came over their senses again. Frisk knew this was a sign that The D3mon King was near. They hid behind a guard stand, or whatever those things called, and ducked out of sight. The voices were whispering and seemingly crying. They were asking why Frisk did this but they knew. A snap was heard and Frisk knew the King broke the stick they hopped over a second before. The heavy breathing of The King became louder as it walked by, the cold was replaced by heat. Slowly they passed and left Frisk alone, slowly they stood with their knife by their side.

    They continued on, feet leaving blood on the snowy ground. After a while, they got into some kind of trap. A pentagram was carved on it and it had a bunch of spikes pointing out of it. However after Frisk inspected it and the gap it was easy to say that Frisk would be able to jump over it.

    Then they heard it, soft breathing and the light crunching of the snow as something came towards them. Slowly, extremely cat-like this thing sounds.

    Too bad they're allergic to cats.

    The creature touched them on the shoulder. Frisk stood there silently.

    "hey bud don't ya know how ta new pal turns around and shake my hand" Frisk slowly turned around, and faced a smiling...

    Skeleton?

    Frisk turned and shook its hand.

    The first thing they felt was pain, the first thing they saw was spikes.

    And then they screamed.

    "good old spikes in the hand trick never get old i'm sans, sans the skeleton don't worry about the spikes that are currently impaling your hand i'll use some magic to fix them right up" The skeleton said as he unhooked their hand and blood gushed out of the wound. Frisk held the wounded hand to their chest as they held back tears.

    "heh, what a baby this is common down here in the underground," The Skeleton said as he grabbed their hand and sealed it up.

    "Was that... Demonic magic?" Frisk dared to ask as the Skeleton pulled away.

    "yup, why do ya ask" Frisk took note of how the skeleton didn't capitalize or add periods to the end of sentences.

    "Because I'm a Christian! I shouldn't be around that stuff!" The skeleton's eyes went black.

    "A... Christian?" His voice wavered as he pulled away. His smile never faded as he moved his hand towards them like he was trying to grab them.

    They felt something stab them through the chest, through their heart. Frisk didn't scream, they knew something would save them.

    "This is the best for ya kiddo. The Demon King won't play as nice as me."

    Everything went black.......
