"Hello fa- My Lord," No, he's not Ye Joon's father. Not anymore. Not after the neglect he had put Hanbal through. When Hanbal was only 5, he was told never to call his father, 'father'. Its because Hanbal was viewed as an embarrassment due to being born as an affair baby. His mother was a noblewoman who Osric Sather took great interest in. She was a rare beauty with a warrior's strength and a serpent's heart. And what's worse, she was Osric's wife's younger sister.

But despite her cunning ways, she had always been a caring and kind person. Whenever she was with Hanbal, her stone-cold face melted and her walls came down. She loved Hanbal very dearly and would spoil him with love and affection.

But when her sister, the wife of Osric Sather, found out about Hanbal, she grew green with envy and demanded the church bring her down and execute her on the spot.

Since his mother had broken one of the Ten Commandments, she was executed the next day without a trial. And since Osric Sather was a noble that even the Church couldn't condemn, he was exempted from punishment.

"My Lord, I heard you were looking for me," Hanbal said politely. His eyes never left the ground due to nervousness and fear. He knew that Osric was a cunning being who could sniff out even a tiny bit of hidden malice. Hanbal fear if he lifted his head, even for a second, his hatred might be noticed and his life would end before it even started. It was quiet at first. The only thing that was making noise was the scratching from the feather pen and the quiet ticking of the clock.

But then, the sound of the chair scraping the floor filled the room. It was followed by footsteps, loud thumping steps that filled the open space like a loud roaring thunder. Soon, the smell of sandalwood filled Hanbal's nose, almost suffocating him with its powerful scent.

Slowly, Hanbal glanced up and stepped back from shock. His eyes trailed up and up and up until his neck hurt. Osric's 7 ft figure loomed over Hanbal's measly 4 ft height. Long black hair ran down his muscular body like a waterfall while his amber-color eyes glowed like a pair of stars.

Hanbal knew Osric was handsome and tall, but he didn't think he was this handsome and tall. It's almost like he's face-to-face with a giant.

"G-greetings, My Lord..." Hanbal spoke, his voice wavering slightly in fear. Those eyes, so dark, so evil, it's causing him to shiver in absolute terror. He could barely move, his back was practically pressed against the door, so an escape was merely impossible.

"Son, why haven't you been visiting me?" Osric's deep voice broke Hanbal's train of thoughts.

Huh?

"I've missed you so much..." Hanbal froze in shock, Huh? He didn't move or reply. What with the affectionate voice? Why are his eyes filled with so much affection? And why is there a smile on his face? Is Osric gonna kill him? But he just got here? And, why did he sound so familiar?

"Come to papa." Hanbal squeaks in surprise when he feels Osric picking him up and carrying him to the work corner. He didn't dare move or struggle. He could barely even breathe. For some strange reason, this felt too familiar to him.

Osric then sat down on the chair with Hanbal on his lap. His hands, which were wrapped around Hanbal's waist, were large and wide with callouses all over his knuckles and fingers. Hanbal wanted nothing more than to scratch the old man in the face and run away to protect himself. The embarrassment was too much for him to handle. He was an old man, being manhandled by another man. His pride was bruised and he felt the need to find a double-barrel shotgun and blow his brains out.

"W-what are you doing, My Lord?" Hanbal said and glanced up at the old man's handsome face with sweat dripping down his eyebrows.

"Didn't I tell you to call me papa? Aish, you must have forgotten. But it's ok, papa forgives you." What the hell is this old man on about? Didn't you hate Hanbal? Why are you acting so nice? This feels wrong. Very wrong. This change of personality felt wrong.

"Um, sir-"

"Papa."

"P-papa, can you let me go..?"

This man is too scary for Hanbal. Even though he was about the same age as the man, he can't help but fear this man. His aura is very suffocating and his size only makes it worse. No matter what he does, or how much he begs, he knows that this monster would not be nice to him, despite being his son. And the sudden personality change only made it worse. No one could make this big of a change in a matter of a few hours. No one.

"Why would I let you go? You fit so snuggly on my lap." Osric said nonchalantly. His luscious deep voice made it sound wrong in Hanbal's ears. This isn't right. This is not normal.

Hanbal took a long breath in and exhaled deeply. This could be good. He can take advantage of this. He was an office worker for the majority of his life. He understood early on that if there is an opportunity that can be taken advantage of, do it. No matter how scummy it sounds, the world doesn't revolve around you, and it does not care about you. If you don't take that chance, someone else will and you'll be left in the dust.

"Please papa, I'm a big boy now. I'm already too old to be sitting on your lap." Hanbal said in his best 'shy' voice. He started playing with his sleeve and looked up at his 'father' with big innocent eyes. But the moment he looked up, he saw dark eyes staring right back at him. Those eyes were filled with possessiveness and dark intent, those eyes were monstrous. It sends a cold toe-gripping shiver down Hanbal's spine.

"No matter how big you are, you are still my baby. Now hush, papa is working." Osric gave Hanbal a soft 'smile' before moving his gaze back to the paper in his hand.

I don't care what I am to you. Just let me leave, you are making me uncomfortable! That is what Hanbal should've said, but couldn't because he was just an ant compared to this giant. He could use this opportunity to test the waters. Maybe he could figure out the personality changes. Has the plot changed because he came here? Or was there another reason?

But he'll have to wait on that. The only thing Hanbal could do now was sulk silently and twiddle his thumbs. He looked around the room and spotted a gap in the door. He glanced up at the handsome man before glancing at the door again.

Should he run? Was it worth it? What if he oversteps the boundaries? Breathing in and out, he silently climbed down from Osric's lap and tiptoed slowly to the book. When he glanced back, Osric still looked focused on his work, so Hanbal took this green light and slipped away. Not noticing the pair of amber-colored eyes following him from behind.
