"!!!" The servants in the palace were all on their toes and walking on shattered eggshells. They thought today was an ordinary day, but nothing went to plan. They witnessed the Great Duke Sather fuming from morning to afternoon for the first time in a long while. They wondered, who could've made such a powerful figure like the Duke mad enough that his usual cold demeanor cracked.

They all shuddered and avoided his path like it was a plague. They didn't want to end up like those servants who served in the dining hall that morning. They could remember like it was seared into their brains. It started normally, the servants laid out food and silver plates for the masters to enjoy. And like normal, they left a small plate of food in the far corner of the long dining table. But to their great surprise, the Duke commanded them to bring the plate beside him, which was a big deal since the seating plan determines the status and value of someone in the family. The closer you are to the patriarch, the more important you are in his eyes. So it was a surprise to all of them, including the other great masters who sat according to their ranks.

Then, when they waited for the youngest master to appear, the halls remained silent and the door remained shut. The Duke hummed gently and gestured for a servant to call the young master for breakfast, only for the servant to return with a panicked expression on their face. The young master wasn't where he was supposed to be.

"God! Someone go look for that brat!" The head maid screamed at the group of nervous maids huddled in the corner.

"We did! But he wasn't in his room!" One of the maids said in a panic.

"We tried to look for him in the garden but we couldn't find him there either!"

"Those are the only places he's allowed to go..."

It was chaos. Pure chaos. It was the first time since the Duke showed any sign of aggression that was 'unprovoked'. Normally, they would deal with things silently without a disturbance in the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the Mansion. That's what makes them even more dangerous. Instead of acting rashly like a madman, instead, they would be silently plotting from the background like snakes that barely move the grass.

"All that little bastard does was cause trouble!" A maid whispered to her brother and gripped her brother's shirt with an angry look on her face.

"All-cause of him, we have to work double time. But on the bright side, if we find him...won't our master reward us?" Her brother replied slyly and smiled.

"Exactly! And if we punish him for them, they'll give us a bigger reward!" They both giggle at the thoughts of being favored by the beyond-handsome masters and the gold that will inevitably flow into their pockets.

Ever since the Duchess ran away with her lover, the Duke, and the young masters became the talk of the town. Rich nobles would use their daughters and sons in the hope to gain favor from the most powerful family in the kingdom. It was said that they were more influential than the royal family since they've been around far longer.

The royal family had fallen and risen 3 times over the last couple of centuries, while the Sather family lived through it all. They were the first to gain power, and the first to create an emperor out of a random citizen. This is why they garnered more respect and power over the citizens since the royal family was, and will always be the Sather's puppets. Everyone knew that. Everyone but Hanbal himself.

"Find him." Duke Osric said sternly at his shadow knights. For some strange reason, the strong urge to love and protect this child grew strong in him. He doesn't understand how it happened, but his dragon body no longer felt like his. It was as if he was no longer in control. He would never look at this bastard of a child, nor care for it, but suddenly, it was as if he couldn't live without Hanbal. His throat feels parched and swollen whenever he sees Hanbal, and his once stone cold heart beat in anticipation whenever Hanbal's name was being brought up. In one day, he became an entirely new person.

And as it turns out, he wasn't the only one.

"Maybe we should chain him up." Both Cyneric and Cynerik said in unison, their voice soft like songbirds, which contradicts their words. Their adorable angel-like faces could fool any unfortunate soul who dares to even fall for their clever disguise. Behind those adorable amber eyes and cute faces, they were demons. Absolute, horrible, terrifying, demons.

They are twisted, cruel, and enjoy the thrill of causing pain. Whether it was servants or other unfortunate nobles, it did not matter to them. If their screams were loud and their face in pain, that is what matters most. That is because they were creatures born without empathy or real human emotions. Born from two monsters, they never cared for anyone, not even themselves. Their hearts were blacker than coal and colder than the tip top of the tallest mountain in the world.

But strangely, their black hearts had a speck of cleanness to them. A super tiny speck of whiteness that has been freshly occupied by Hanbal of all people. They too, like their monstrous father, felt like puppets being controlled by an entirely new person.

"He'll look so pretty chained up, don't you think brother?" Cynerik asked coldly. His face remained apathetic, but his words were dark and cruel. His short straight hair flutter in the wind. Unlike his brother, instead of short, wavy black hair, instead, he has short, straight black hair that looked more mature and clean. He was quieter than his twin and was more calculating and cruel, like a beast hiding in the shadows.

"Yes! You are right dearest brother! If he were to get chained up, won't he be more dependent on us?" Cyneric sang with a happy note. Even though he bore a smile on his face, his eyes didn't match his smile. His eyes looked dead, not a speck of light could be reflected from those amber orbs. His eyes bore possessiveness, which was unusual since they tended to lack any emotions whatsoever. But they were not themselves anymore. And strangely enough, they embraced this new side of them.

If Hanbal heard what was going on, he'd wish to never find his way back home.

"Now, now, let's not do anything that can hurt Hanbal. We must think rationally. Something must have scared him away, right? We must find that source and quickly get rid of it. Don't you all agree?" There came a cool voice. It sounded like a refreshing breeze on a cold winter night.

Rayder, the eldest son of the Sather family was a strange one. He was much more straightforward compared to his younger brothers. His intentions were clear and he was considerably more honest than his brothers. Some might say that he is a slitting image of his father, while others would compare him to a lion rather than a snake. He's cold and calculating, but gentler and a smooth talker that could charm anyone he talks to.

But like everyone in his family, his tongue was as poisonous as his heart.

But despite that, his looks outweigh all of his negative qualities. Ladies and gentlemen from both the commoner and the noble family wished to warm his bed. Despite knowing that his heart has already been taken by someone else, they still held on to the hope that they could snatch his poisonous heart away.

"Aw, but brother! I miss him!" Cyneric cried childishly and began to lean on his twin brother dramatically. Cynerik just looks at their eldest brother without an ounce of emotions to decipher.

"I know, we all do. But let's just wait for things to calm down first." Rayder hummed gently and sat calmly on the chair. His eyes were calm, hiding the storm that threatened to break out of it.

Cyneric just pouted cutely and batted his eyelashes.

"Stop. You are not cute." Cynerik snorted at his twin. This caused Cyneric to whine childishly..

"What! I am!! I am the cutest!!"

"No, Hanbal is."

"Oh wait, you're right."

"I know. I'm always right."

"Damn it..."

Rayder sighed. Even though he was very far away, he could still hear the twins chattering, acting like normal children when it was obvious they weren't.
