She was unable to sleep the entire night before seeing Tony.

She tossed and turned for a few hours before giving up. She spent the rest of the night deep cleaning the upstairs of the house. There was nothing else she could do to calm her mind. The more she attempted to relax, the more she thought about the next day.

She was beginning to question why she agreed to this. She didn't know that she could forgive Tony. She didn't understand how some people could reconnect with family who left. She didn't feel like family should ever abandon each other like that. If you care about someone, you stay. She had always assumed her uncle didn't care, but Ana said he did, and that's why he left. She couldn't wrap her head around it, but she made an effort to keep it in mind.

After cleaning until right before sunrise, she had managed to fall asleep for a couple hours, and several hours later she was in her car, sitting outside of a diner-type restaurant. She ran a hand through her hair, gathering her things as she stepped out of the car. She had considered not going, and she may not have if she hadn't been constantly reminding herself that she was doing this for her grandmother more than anyone. She'd much prefer to keep avoiding it all.

It was cold outside, and she was suddenly very grateful for the thick jacket she had grabbed on her way out of the door.

When she entered the diner, she felt a wave of nerves wash over her. It was full, and of course she knew what Tony Stark looked like, but he was an Avenger; he had to have some type of disguise on, right? She looked around. It was a decently small place, and even with the load of people there, it didn't take her long to find Tony. It also helped that he was not wearing a disguise unless he considered a baseball cap to be a disguise.

She observed him for a moment, letting out a long breath before walking up to the table." Hi." she spoke in a somewhat distant tone, her eyes not meeting his for longer than a second.

"April!" Tony stood up and reached his hand out. She shook his hand and smiled awkwardly before they both sat back down. She looked around for a second, noticing the people who were staring in their direction, it felt weird, but it felt weirder to see how many people were paying them no mind. Tony Stark was sitting in a public diner and there were only a handful of people looking at him.

"Why don't you have a crowd of people around you? Did you piss off the world or something?" She asked as she turned back to him.

Tony laughed a little and looked around the room as well. "No, at least I don't think I have." Then he took a sip of the water in front of him. April noticed that he had already gotten them both drinks. "I come here often. The regulars aren't too shocked by my appearance. I'm sure someone will ask for an autograph at some point though."

April nodded, her eyes a little wide. She could remember going to diners similar to this one with her parents or grandparents. Tony had even tagged along on several occasions, even her aunts from time to time. It was a family thing in a way; her mother had always loved diners, and it reminded her grandparents of when they were young. She assumed that was why Tony had chosen a diner to meet at, not because it was the only place that he wouldn't get harassed at.

She took a sip of her water, not knowing what to say. She had a million things she wanted to say before she walked in, but for some reason, she couldn't think of any of them now.
