Chapter 12: Connelly

"AS LONG AS IM WITH YOU, IVE GOT A SMILE ON MY FACE"

-D4VD, 'HERE WITH ME' 

 My birthday came 2 weeks after Warrior Night and I still hadn't told her I was in love with her. And man all I could do think about her. Her hair, her eyes, her everything. 

 "Hey, happy birthday, I got you something." she says after school at out tutoring session.

 I unwrap it and hold a baseball glove in my hand. My heart does a little leap, and I'm happier than I have been in a while. 

 I hug her and she looks all weird as I do it. 

 "Connelly, I need to breath." she breaths patting my back. 

 "Oh yeah, sorry." I apologize scratching the back of my head. "I forgot you don't like hugs." 

 "No, it's okay, its fine," 

 And now I feel bad because she clearly doesn't like to be hugged and shes not okay, she isn't, I just know it. 

 There's something going on with her and she hasn't told me. I brush the hair out of her face ready to tell her but I know I wont. 

 She pulls and puts her hands on her ears. I catch a glimpse of light blue through her hair.

 "Hey, are you okay? Why'd you pull back?" I ask.

 "My ears just get really cold and I didn't want them to, so I put my hands over my ears, nothing big." 

 "Briar Rose," I say in a deep serious voice, "You can tell me anything, I'm here for you the same way you are with me." 

 "If I tell you, you promise you wont tell or make fun?" she says. 

 "I promise, why would I have a reason to lie to you? In what ways would I benefit?" I ask, still in the deep voice.

 "I'm hard of hearing and autistic." she answers feebly and quietly. 

 "Oh, well I mean that doesn't really matter, I have learning disabilities too. I dont really care if your normal or not, I like you for you Briar Rose Grambs. And dam it, if I have to wait till were 50 just to be with you, I'll wait." I confess and i lean in and kiss her.

 No kiss has ever felt that electric and satisfying than that.

 And to my surprise, she doesn't pull away, she leans in. We stay like that for as long as we can hold our breath and then we pull away.

 "That was my first time, I hope I wasnt too bad." she laughs

 I laugh too. "No you're good. It's okay, I'm just surprised you didnt pull away, you dont seem like the kinda girl who'd kiss guys." 

 "Youre right, I'm not. But who really cares, like it isnt as if I didnt want my first kiss, I just never had a chance." 

 "You? Not having a chance with guys? Briar, you are one of the most beautiful girls to ever walk this earth. What are you talking about? Ive thought about you since the day we met adn i cant stop it." 

 She blushes and turns away shyly.

Really short chapter, sorry. 

Well, sorry I hadn't written for like 3 days, I had issues with my laptop.
