 We drive and all I can think is, 'HOW ON EARTH DID I GET HER TO SAY YES?'

 Sheer luck, I guess

 "Whats got you grinning so big?" Briar says from the passenger seat.

 "Oh nothing, just my imagination." I reply slyly, with an even bigger grin on my face.

 "Well what's your imagination like then?" 

 "Its a world that's full of beautiful chaos." I answer slyly.

 "Sounds like my mind. I just wish it would calm down." she says looking out the window.

 "Hey, where do you want to eat?" I say. "We can eat literally any where, I'm not picky."

 "Honestly, Whataburger sounds really good." she answers giggling.

 "You're such a Texas girl." 

 "Hey, I like it a whole lot better than In-N-Out." 

 "Valid." I laugh. 

 She also laughs.

 And it might be one of the best sounds I've ever heard. It was quite but at the same time, beautiful. 

  "Okay, truth or dare?" I ask her as I take a sip of my sweet tea.

 "Um, truth. I guess." she answers eating her fries. 

 "Did you hate me the first time we met?" 

 "Yeah, of course. You blew up a beaker." she says, giggling.

 At the second the door opens and in walks my friends.

 SH!T, SH!T, SH!T!
 "Oh, look who's here." Nat says stalking over to us.

 "Hi Nat. Val. Micheal. Eddie." I say.

 "Why'd ya blow us off?" Eddie says.

 "I didn't feel like hanging out tonight." I lie back.

 Well, its only half a lie. 

 I didnt really want to hang out. But at the same, I'd already planned to ask Briar out.

 "So, you blew us off, to hang with her." Micheal says coldly.

 And that's when...

 Without thinking, I punch that sorry @$$hole in the face. 

 His face starts gushing blood and he falls back into a table.

 He hops back up and takes a shot at me but he misses and falls into me.

 "STOP!" Briar yells, pulling me off of him.

 I feel bad for her, having to see watch me punch the sh!t out of Micheal. 

 "Look, I'm sorry, Micheal."

 "Yeah you better be. You're gonna pay for this Manchester. And you rich daddy isn't even gonna be able to get you out of this mess." 

 "Whatever, just don't insult my girlfriend again." 

 "OH! So she your girlfriend now?" Val sneers. 

 "Yeah, and what is that to you? Go home." I say turning my back to them.

 They walk out, but Eddie stays back.

 "Hey man, I'm sorry about that. They don't understand that they aren't the universe, see you later. Enjoy your date." he says patting me on the back as he walks out.

 "Bye dude." I say back. "Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to hit him, I just couldn't control myself." 

 "No, you're good. Also what do you mean by girlfriend?" 

 "Sorry, I didn't know, I just said it." I say blushing and rubbing my head.

 "No, no, youre good." she says.

 And she smiles.

 A big beautiful smile that stops my heart.

 And I fall in love all over again.
