My mom and Irina are busy in the kitchen, have been since this morning. Natasha and her dad will come in a few minutes, since they don't help to prepare the food, they stayed at home longer.

Personally, I wouldn't have minded if Nat would have gotten here earlier. Although, I'm not sure we would have been able to keep to ourselves. At least not with the knowledge that we'll tell everyone in not even an hour.

Wanda joins me in the living room that is refunctioned to the dinning room because this is the largest room in the apartment.

"You're uncharacteristically quiet," she observes and sits down next to me. I blow out a breath and lay my head back against the sofa.

"Is it that obvious?" I stare up at the ceiling. If everyone can tell something is up with me, it could make them suspicious or think I am hiding something. Which I kind of am but I'm planning on telling them.

"I don't think so. Mom is busy in the kitchen and Dad is happily playing with Tommy. Besides, they don't know what I know. I'm assuming this," she gestures at me, "has something to do with Natasha coming over today?"

My sister is smart, I can't deny that. She has a sense for these kinds of things and sometimes I hate her for it.
Today, I am glad because talking to her is helping to keep me occupied.
Sitting here and doing nothing would give me more time to be nervous about this all.

"Yeah. We wanted to tell everyone today. It took some time to come to that decision but we want our families to know and want to be able to be happy together." I turn my head to look at Wanda. She wears an orange dress that reminds me a little of my favorite redhead.

"I totally get that and I'm sure Mom and Dad will be happy for you. And if not, well, I am ready to argue on your behalf." She puts her arm around me and I smile.

Maybe I am not as alone in this as I thought at first. With Natasha and Wanda at my side, this can't go wrong, can it?
My parent's approval still means something to me, as dumb as that may sound. But I want to be able to bring Natasha home on holidays or vacations and I want my family to be happy to have us and not roll their eyes.

"Thank you." I reply and lean my head against hers. Having a big sister is definitely worth it in moments like these, it's even worth all the teasing and bantering and arguing.

The doorbell rings and I almost jump up, startling Wanda before she snickers and waves for me to go on. I'm at the door before my dad can be and buzz them in. First, I see Luka, smiling broadly at me and giving me a bear hug.

"Y/n, nice to see you again and happy Thanksgiving."

"Happy Thanksgiving, Luka, it's nice to see you again too." He walks past me and starts greeting my father. They sound like old friends, which at this point, they are.

Natasha smiles at me, following her dad's example in hugging me. I melt into her arms, my nervousness quieting down and I take a deep breath. It's going to be okay.

"You look very nice today," I compliment her, looking over her outfit after pulling away.
She wears a light orange dress-shirt with a brown vest over it. The pants match the vest in color and look radiant on her.

I've always been a sucker for when she dresses like this. And despite seeing it almost daily when we are at work, it doesn't lose it's effect.

"Thank you, so do you," she returns the compliment. I look down at myself and smile at her in thanks. I opted for a light green blouse with grey jeans. Not as chic as her but also not in my lounging around clothes.
