"I never know how to feel when you sit me in your car and don't tell me where we're going." I watch a few buildings fly by and follow a car next to us with my eyes. Nat chuckles in the driver's seat.
"Have I ever taken you to anything bad?"
"No, but that doesn't mean that can't still happen," I point out and turn my attention to her.
Her face is illuminated by the street lights and the lights from the car in front of us. I have no idea where we are headed nor what we will do there.
Tasha asked me out on a date earlier today, said it will be our last calm weekend before Thanksgiving. I still haven't decided if I want to tell our families but if we do, there will probably be a few less calm moments.
And Thanksgiving might get a bit more stressful, emotional wise. When I talked this over with Yelena, she understood why Nat wants to tell our families but she also understands me. It's not an easy decision but I am starting to figure out what I will settle on.
So, when Tasha asked me to go out on a date with her tonight, I agreed. Things at work are getting a little busy with the holiday coming up and everyone sending in their assignments last minute.
Going out will be nice and a welcomed distraction. Thanksgiving is around the corner, next Thursday to be exact and I am looking forward to seeing my parents again, regardless of if we tell them or not. I'm also looking forward to the drive there. Natasha and I settled on driving there together, as the way is long and using two cars would be unnecessary. We are headed into the exactly same direction, so why not car pool. Saves money on gas and is better for the environment. And more fun for us.
We will both stay at our parent's home from Wednesday evening to Saturday and drive back Sunday. It will be like a little vacation. Except that I might help out in the bakery a bit but that doesn't feel like work as I always enjoyed that.
Wanda, Vision and Tommy will stay in Wanda's old room, which will get a bit crowded but is cheaper than a hotel.
The only hotel in the city is quite expensive due to the closeness to another bigger city that is popular in the eyes of the tourists.
I already know the living room will be a mess with Tommy's toys but I like that. It allows me to spend a lot of time with him, which falls a little short when I work throughout the week and spend my weekends mostly with Nat. I have been at Wanda's too, but not frequently."What do you think I could do?" Nat asks, raising an eyebrow when glancing into my direction. I purse my lips in thought and pull the sleeves of my sweater over my hands. The car isn't cold but I like the feeling of being snuggled up in my sweaters.
"Kidnap me?" I suggest, at which Natasha snorts out a laugh.
"You'd come with me voluntarily," she points out, sounding very amused and I have to admit she is right. I wouldn't fight her if she kidnapped me. There are worse things than spending all my time with her.
"Drive the car up to a lake, tell me to stay seated and then push it in and leave me inside?"
"That true-crime documentary really got to you, didn't it?" The teasing smile in her voice makes me smile too.
We were watching TV the other night, as we do rather often, and both fell asleep at some point. When I woke up again, there was a true-crime documentary on. I wanted to switch it off but it was too interesting. When Nat woke up, it was wrapping up, so she missed most of it but was still surprised to find me watch it.
I've never watched that kind of stuff before but I have to say, it was interesting.I look out the window again and try to figure out where we could be headed. But besides East, I have no idea. She could be taking me anywhere. From her happy aura, I am sensing it's something good though.
